Part 3 | “Should everyone get their baby assessed by an IBCLC just in case something is wrong?” 🌸
Choosing an IBCLC is a very personal decision - and qualifications are only part of it. ❤️
With my own grandchild on the way, I was conscious of his Mum being supported with an experienced IBCLC who she feels comfortable to explore the post-birth period and hear real answers to her questions or concerns - not just “hearsay”.
You want someone whose approach aligns with yours, who listens rather than assumes, and who knows when something is within their scope - and when another professional needs to be brought into the team.
After 15 years of working alongside mothers and babies, I’ve seen just how valuable truly collaborative care can be.
