Being a preferred provider isn't a title you give yourself. It's something that's given to you by the families, participants and communities who trust you with something incredibly precious.

At Essential Nursing, we work every single day to earn and keep that trust. It shows up in the way we hire and train our team. In the clinical standards we hold ourselves to. In the zero non-conformities we achieved at our most recent audit. In the way we answer the phone when a family has a question. And in the way our participants feel when they wake up in one of our homes every morning.

For families choosing an NDIS provider, preferred status means something real. It means other families have been where you are, asked the hard questions, and chosen us. And stayed.

That's what we're most proud of πŸ’›

Support doesn't stop at the front door. And at Essential Nursing, neither do we.

Our dedicated community transport means participants can get to medical appointments, social events, recreational activities and everyday outings without transport ever being a barrier. With a trusted support worker alongside them every step of the way.

Because a full life isn't lived inside four walls. It's lived out in the community, with the people and places that matter. And we have everything it takes to make that happen for every participant in our care.

Whether it's a specialist appointment across town or a coffee with a friend around the corner, we don't just support our participants at home. We get them out into the world too πŸ’›πŸšŒ

October is here, and with it comes some important changes to the NDIS that participants and families should be aware of.

From this month, support budgets for some social, civic and community participation supports and capacity building daily activities will begin to be progressively reset as plans come up for renewal or reassessment. These changes are being rolled out gradually, so not every participant will be affected straight away.

At Essential Nursing, staying across every NDIS update is part of how we show up for our participants. Alongside your support coordinator, we're here to make sure you feel informed and supported through every change the scheme brings.

If you have questions about how October's changes may affect your plan, we'd encourage you to reach out to your support coordinator or visit ndis.gov.au for the latest official information πŸ’›

At Essential Nursing, growth has always meant one thing. More people supported. More communities reached. More lives changed.

We are continuing to grow and invest back into the communities we serve across Western Australia, and as part of that commitment, we are working towards opening more SIL homes across WA.

Because we believe that every person living with disability deserves access to quality, compassionate supported living, no matter where they are in WA. And we're building toward that every single day.

If you or someone you love is exploring Supported Independent Living options, we'd love to hear from you.

When it comes to choosing a SIL provider, most families focus on the home itself. The location, the layout, the feel of the place.

But one of the most important questions to ask is about the people behind the care. And specifically, whether the provider has qualified clinical staff on hand for participants who need more than daily living support.

At Essential Nursing, our team goes beyond support workers. We have Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses on staff, bringing a level of clinical capability that most SIL providers simply don't have.

That means participants with complex health needs, high intensity care requirements or significant medical considerations can receive expert clinical support right where they live. No unnecessary hospital visits. No gaps in care. Just the right people with the right skills showing up every day.

For families, that's not just reassuring. It's life changing πŸ’›

09/10/2026

Did you know that from 1 October 2026, all Supported Independent Living providers in Australia are now legally required to be registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission?

This is one of the most significant changes to hit the SIL sector in recent years. And for families choosing a provider, it matters more than ever.

Registration means a provider has been independently assessed against national quality and safety standards. It means there are systems in place for incident reporting, complaints and clinical governance. It means accountability. And it means your loved one is protected.

At Essential Nursing, this isn't a change we had to scramble to meet. We have always been registered and compliant. Our recent audit returned zero non-conformities. We were ahead of the standard before it became mandatory, because that's simply how we operate.

When you choose Essential Nursing, you choose a provider that doesn't wait to be told to do the right thing πŸ’™

In disability support, it can be easy to focus on the tasks. The schedule. The care plan. The documentation.

But the thing that actually makes the difference in a participant's life isn't the paperwork. It's the person doing the work.

At Essential Nursing, we hire people who genuinely see the participants they support. Who notice when something is off. Who celebrate the wins, big and small. Who know how someone takes their morning tea, what makes them laugh, and what kind of day they're having before they've said a word.

Our participants aren't just supported. They're known. They're valued. And they're seen, every single day, by a team that genuinely cares about who they are and the life they're living.

That's what care looks like at Essential Nursing πŸ’›πŸ

When it comes to disability support, consistency matters more than most people realise.

A participant who sees the same familiar faces every day, who is supported by people who know their routines, their preferences and their personality, experiences a fundamentally different quality of care than one who faces a rotating roster of unfamiliar workers.

At Essential Nursing, our team of 200+ professionals gives us the capacity to maintain that consistency. We don't rely on agency staff to fill gaps. We have the depth within our own team to ensure our participants are always supported by people who know them and genuinely care about them.

Consistency in care starts with consistency in staffing. And that's something we're proud to deliver every single day πŸ’›πŸ
