🌸 THE LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS – FLORAL READINGS 🌸
Have you ever wondered whether a flower can tell a story?
A flower is more than something beautiful. Its petals, stems, roots, thorns and even the way it begins to fade can become a fascinating way to explore life's experiences.
Welcome to The Language of Flowers – a different kind of intuitive reading.
We look at the flowers and their characteristics to explore themes of:
🌿 Past experiences and what you've carried with you. 🌸 Emotional patterns and relationships. 🌱 Personal growth and new beginnings. 🥀 Letting go of what no longer serves you. 🌼 Strengths, opportunities and what may lie ahead.
Even the stem has a story to tell!
Is it cleanly cut, woody, twisted, soft, wilted or still holding its roots?
Each characteristic becomes a talking point in your reading, offering a fresh perspective on your personal journey.
🌸 OUR FLORAL READING EXPERIENCES
✨ 10-minute introductory reading – $30
✨ 30-minute floral reading – $80
✨ Extended floral reading with a homeopathic component – $120
Why do we publish our prices?
Because we believe in transparency. You should know exactly what a service costs before deciding whether it's right for you.
This isn't about predicting your fate or telling you how to live. It's about curiosity, symbolism, reflection and discovering different ways of looking at your own story.

Have you ever wondered what flowers might say if we knew how to read them? 🌿
A little behind-the-scenes peek into something I absolutely love sharing at Keep a Lid on It — the fascinating world of floral readings.
Years ago, I came across an old book about the language of flowers. I wasn't even a huge flower lover back then, but something about the meanings behind different blooms caught my curiosity. 🌼
As I explored the old traditions, I discovered how flowers and their colours have been given different meanings throughout history. I began sorting the information into themes, exploring the emotional associations, symbolism and personal reflections each bloom could inspire.
Today, I love bringing that knowledge together with my own intuition to create a unique floral reading experience. It's a chance to slow down, get curious and explore the stories and meanings we attach to the natural world. 🌷
I'm sharing a little glimpse behind the scenes because sometimes the most interesting things begin with a simple old book and a curious mind!
🌿 Have you ever had a favourite flower, or one you've always felt drawn to without knowing why? I'd love to hear which flower speaks to you!

🧠✨ WHAT DOES YOUR FOREHEAD SAY ABOUT YOU?
🌿 FACE IT | CHINESE FACE READING 🌿
Your face has a story. Have you ever stopped to read it?
Have you ever noticed the lines across your forehead, the creases between your eyebrows or the shape and height of your forehead?
In traditional Chinese face reading, the forehead is explored as part of a much bigger picture — offering a fascinating way to reflect on your thinking patterns, emotional experiences, personal direction and the changes that shape your life.
🔎 WHAT DO WE LOOK FOR?
〰️ HORIZONTAL FOREHEAD LINES
In traditional interpretations, these lines can be explored in relation to mental pressure, frustration and emotional experiences. Some face-reading traditions also associate different areas of the forehead with particular relationships and influences.
〰️ VERTICAL LINES BETWEEN THE BROWS
These lines invite a closer look at concentration, determination and the experiences that may have changed the way you think or approach life.
🧠 THE HEIGHT OF YOUR FOREHEAD
A higher forehead is traditionally associated with contemplation, analysis and big-picture thinking, while a shorter forehead may be interpreted as practical, action-oriented thinking.
But here's the important part: one feature never tells the whole story.
Your face is unique, and a thoughtful reading considers your features together rather than placing you in a box. These are traditional interpretations for reflection, not fixed facts about your personality or health.
🌿 YOUR PRIVATE FACE READING EXPERIENCE

🔍 FACE IT: WHAT DOES THE SPACE BETWEEN YOUR EYEBROWS REVEAL?
Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered what your face might be telling you? 👀
In traditional Chinese face reading, the space between your eyebrows is known as the Life Palace. It's one of the areas practitioners examine when interpreting the face as a whole.
✨ BUT WHAT DOES YOUR LIFE PALACE SAY?
🌿 Narrow spacing — Traditionally associated with focus, determination and a strong will.
🌿 Balanced spacing — Often interpreted through themes of harmony, clarity and perspective.
🌿 Wider spacing — Traditionally associated with independence, openness and a willingness to explore.
But here's where it gets interesting…
A face reader doesn't look at just one feature and decide who you are. The position, proportions and relationship between different facial features all contribute to a broader interpretation.
Your face is a map of features, proportions and patterns that have been studied within traditional Chinese face-reading practices for generations.
So, have a look in the mirror… 🔎
Would you describe the space between your eyebrows as narrow, balanced or wide?
Tell us in the comments! 👇
And remember, this is only one small part of the bigger picture. Your face may have more stories to explore.

👁️ WHAT DO YOUR EYEBROWS SAY ABOUT YOU?
KEEP A LID ON IT | Chinese Face Reading
Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered what your eyebrows might reveal beyond their shape? 🤔
In traditional Chinese face reading, the eyebrows are one of the features explored when interpreting a person's character, temperament and approach to relationships. Every face tells a different story, and sometimes the smallest details invite the biggest questions.
🌿 LET'S LOOK AT FOUR EYEBROW FEATURES!
🔹 STRAIGHT & THICK
Traditionally associated with directness, determination and practical thinking. This brow shape invites us to explore how someone approaches decisions, challenges and getting things done.
🔹 ARCHED & FINE
Often interpreted as expressive, sensitive and socially aware. The arch invites a closer look at emotional expression, communication and how someone navigates social situations.
🔹 ANGLED EYEBROWS
The angle can be explored in traditional face reading as a feature associated with assertiveness, decisiveness and a strong approach to challenges.
🔹 THIN, THICK OR UNRULY?
Density, definition, growth direction and the overall appearance of the eyebrows all contribute to the traditional reading. Rather than judging one feature in isolation, a face reader considers how the eyebrows relate to the eyes, forehead, facial proportions and the rest of the face.
✨ HERE'S THE IMPORTANT PART.
No single eyebrow shape defines who you are. Chinese face reading is a traditional interpretive practice, not a scientifically validated personality test. The art lies in observing the whole face, considering the context and exploring the traditional meanings with curiosity.
At Keep a Lid on It, we look beyond first impressions. We explore the connections between facial features, traditional Chinese face reading principles and the stories people bring to their own lives.
Your face is unique. Your reading should be, too.
💬 YOUR TURN!
Are your eyebrows straight, arched, angled, thick, thin or a little unruly?

🔎 YOUR FACE HAS A STORY TO TELL… BUT HAVE YOU LEARNED HOW TO READ IT?
Have you ever wondered what your face might reveal about your natural strengths, personality, relationships or the direction your life takes?
👁️ In the traditional art of Chinese face reading, facial features are explored as part of a broader system of observation, symbolism and interpretation.
From the shape of your face to the features that make you uniquely YOU, there is so much more to explore than what you see in the mirror.
✨ What might your face reveal about you?
🌿 Your natural strengths and potential
🌿 Personality traits and patterns
🌿 Relationships and how you connect with others
🌿 Career, purpose and personal direction
🌿 The five elements and their place in traditional Chinese face reading
Sometimes, looking at yourself from a different perspective can open the door to new questions, fresh insights and a deeper understanding of yourself.
And here's the interesting part… 👀
Your face is unique. Your reading should be, too.

🔎 FACE IT: YOUR FACE IS MORE THAN JUST A PRETTY PICTURE!
🌿 Why do we study the face in Chinese Face Reading?
Think about reflexology. Practitioners explore different areas of the feet, using traditional maps to understand how those areas are believed to correspond with other parts of the body.
In Chinese Face Reading, we take a similarly curious approach to the face. But instead of looking at the feet, we study the bigger picture written across your facial features. 👁️
✨ So, what are we looking for?
🔹 The forehead — Traditionally associated with early life, thinking and how we approach opportunities.
🔹 The eyebrows and eyes — Studied for their shape, spacing and relationship to the rest of the face.
🔹 The nose and cheeks — Considered in traditional interpretations of confidence, resources and how we navigate the world.
🔹 The mouth and chin — Explored for their traditional associations with communication, expression and later stages of life.
🔹 The face shape — Connected in some Chinese face-reading traditions with the Five Elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.
But here's where it gets interesting! 🧐
A skilled face reader doesn't simply point to one feature and decide they know your entire story.
It's about observing proportions, shapes, relationships between features and the face as a whole. One feature may catch our attention, but the surrounding details help build the bigger picture.
And just like looking at a map, knowing where to look is only the beginning. Understanding the traditional interpretations takes time, study and context.
⚠️ An important distinction: These are traditional interpretive systems, not scientifically established methods of diagnosing health conditions or determining someone's personality or future.
At Keep a Lid on It, curiosity comes first. We explore the traditions, the symbolism and the possibilities — without pretending one feature tells us everything about a person.
👀 Now, here's a question for you...
Have you ever looked at your face and wondered what a face reader might notice that you've never noticed yourself?
There's a lot more to explore, but we'll keep the lid on that for now. 😉🔐
✨ FACE IT. UNDERSTAND IT. EXPLORE IT.

🌿✨ BENZOIN: THE COURAGE TO STOP YIELDING AND START GROWING ✨🌿
🌸 What if a flower could help you see your own strength differently?
Some flowers whisper. Others remind us that it’s time to stand a little taller, trust ourselves a little more and stop bending to everything life asks of us.
🌿 Meet Benzoin — a symbol of courage, resilience and inner strength.
Benzoin is treasured for its warm, comforting fragrance and its aromatic resin. In the symbolic world of floral readings, we can explore its message through the qualities of warmth, grounding and the courage to move forward.
🔥 Its message?
You can be kind without constantly yielding.
You can love people without losing yourself.
You can bend with life's challenges without breaking your own spirit.
And you can reach a point where keeping the peace is no longer worth abandoning your own needs.
🌸 FLORAL READINGS ARE ABOUT MORE THAN PETALS.
At Keep a Lid on It, we explore the language of flowers through plant knowledge, symbolism, natural energy and the stories plants invite us to consider.
Drawing on years of knowledge and curiosity about plants, we look beyond what a flower appears to be. We explore its characteristics, its associations and the messages we can take from nature into our everyday lives.
🌿 A floral reading can invite you to reflect on: ✨ Your natural strengths and resilience
✨ The courage to establish healthier boundaries
✨ Patterns of always giving in or putting others first
✨ Finding balance during times of change
✨ Reconnecting with your own inner strength
And what about benzoin essential oil?
Its warm, balsamic aroma is traditionally used in perfumery and aromatherapy. Its comforting scent may form part of a relaxing sensory experience, although aromatherapy is not a substitute for medical treatment.
