How time flies.

A show that began with one man looking for one woman became about so much more. It became about 20 women.

One woman got the man. But the true love story? That was between the women. ❤️

Twelve months ago, we came together in Sydney for the premiere of The Golden Bachelor.

It was exciting. It was glamorous. And we were about to watch something unfold on screen that we had lived together six months earlier.

Seeing myself on television was surreal, exciting, confronting, hilarious and a little unnerving. Watching yourself is one thing. Knowing everyone else is watching too is quite another.

I hadn’t seen these women since we’d filmed together. Then, in the blink of an eye and the clink of a ch*****ne glass, we picked up where we’d left off.

All dressed up, watching a show that showed us. Our faces, our nerves, our hopes and the moments we’d shared. There was a lot to take in.

Twelve months later, the friendships have lasted. The relationship has lasted. And that’s the thing about true friendship. You don’t have to see each other all the time or speak every day. You just know it’s still there.

Still no regrets.

The women, the friendships, the adventure of saying yes to something so far outside my everyday life.

What an extraordinary chapter to have lived. I’d say yes all over again. ❤️

Trading the Lycra for luncheon frocks. ❤️

Yesterday, myself and four fabulous friends joined around 1,000 women at the Cabal Ladies Lunch, raising money and awareness for ovarian cancer research.

I’ve been going to this lunch for more than 20 years and it is always such a brilliant day. Great food, a little or sometimes a lot of w**e, plenty of laughs and a dance floor that was absolutely buzzing. And our very own Claire somehow managed to be declared the sexiest dancer on the dance floor, which, to be fair, she wore very well. 😂

It was especially lovely having some of the Bend It with Bendle girls there with me this year. I have a feeling our little group might just keep growing.

The sling was not exactly part of the dress code, but we made it work. And with a little help from another wing woman, even lunch was organised in manageable bite sized pieces. Very sophisticated. 😂

A fabulous day, gorgeous company and a cause more than worth supporting. 💙

When your wing is broken, you need a good wing man 😂

My right shoulder is out of action and Claire’s left wrist is broken, so between us we managed to make one fully functioning instructor.

I provided the left arm. She provided the right.

Friends supporting friends, one wing at a time 😂

Happy 30th birthday, to our beautiful Liv.

Thirty years of being completely and unmistakably you.

You dance to the beat of your own drum, you see the sparkle in life and you bring that sparkle with you wherever you go.

Since coming into our family, you have brought so much fun, laughter and happiness with you. You make Kade incredibly happy, you gave us our beautiful Andy, and now there is another very loved little baby on the way.

You help me more than you will ever know, and I am thankful for you every day. You are the most beautiful daughter in law, and we are incredibly lucky to have you in our family.

Today is simply about celebrating you and everything that makes you Liv.

Keep dancing, keep sparkling, keep laughing and keep doing life your own way.

Happy 30th birthday, Liv.

We love you. 💕💕💕💕💕

As a mum, you are always a mum. It doesn’t matter how old they are. You are always a mum. ❤️

Happy 31st birthday to my beautiful son, Kade.

I am so proud of the man you are, the human you are, and the life you have created. I feel incredibly lucky to call you my son, and just as lucky to still be part of your life and watch it all unfold.

You are kind, funny, clever, thoughtful and a bloody good human.

Thank you for bringing an incredible daughter in law into my life, and thank you for one of my most treasured gifts in this world, apart from my sons of course, my beautiful granddaughter Andy. ❤️

I hope every dream you have comes true. The ones you have now, the ones still waiting for you down the track, and all the ones you haven’t even dreamed of yet.

Kade, I feel incredibly privileged to call you my son.

I love you more than words can say.

Happy birthday let's celebrate ❤️

Bionic woman in the making 💪

So, this is what happened yesterday.

You all know I like a little adventure, a touch of glamour and mixing things up, so why not add shoulder surgery to the list? Complete with a rather fetching hat and fabulous compression stockings, naturally.

Today I’m already smashing goals. Teeth brushed, hair brushed and breakfast successfully navigated with one hand, including baked beans and Vegemite toast.

My teeth may occasionally have been recruited as a backup hand, but where there’s a will there’s a way, and where there’s food, I will always find a way.

I’m now officially left handed for the next five weeks.

I’ve always believed there’s a reason for everything, and perhaps this is life’s slightly aggressive way of telling me to slow down and change things up. Apparently, learning to do familiar things differently is good for the brain, so by the end of this I should either be ambidextrous or a complete genius. Possibly both.

For a girl who loves her eyeliner, this could be a real test. I suspect it may look as though it was applied in a moving vehicle for the first few weeks 😂

If you see me at the supermarket looking a little dishevelled, please be polite. A small laugh will be tolerated, providing you open the jars, carry the shopping and don’t photograph me trying to unwrap my chocolate while pushing a trolley and getting my credit cards out.

As for my classes, my adventures in life always seem to extend to all of you, so prepare yourselves. We may be adding a little ambidextrous brain training to the timetable.

I’ll see you all soon. I’ll be barking orders rather than demonstrating, so get your listening ears on.

PS. I still have my left hand to crack the whip 😂

The bionic era has begun.

Pilates instructor approved ✔️

Jump squat proof? ✔️

Stretch proof? ✔️

See-through? Absolutely not. Nobody needs that surprise halfway through a Pilates class. 😂

They’re soft, they stretch in every direction, and they move with me however I want.

So yes, these GearBunch leggings tick all the boxes. ✔️

And then there are these colours

Subtle? Not exactly. 😂

You’ll see me coming from a mile away, and I’m completely okay with that.

There’s a lot more going on behind a class than people probably realise.

I’m watching bodies, remembering injuries, correcting form, offering alternatives, keeping an eye on the clock, thinking three exercises ahead and sometimes changing the whole plan because I can feel that’s what the room needs.

But there’s another part of teaching that you can’t really learn from a textbook.

Knowing your people.

Knowing when someone needs encouragement, when they need to be challenged, when they need to back off and sometimes knowing they’re having an off day before they’ve even said a word.

After all these years of teaching, so much of that has become instinctive.

Every class is different because every group of people walking through the door is different, and the energy they bring is different too.

And perhaps that’s why, after all these years, I still bloody love it. ❤️

If you want to be part of something a little different, where you’re genuinely cared about, where your instructor knows you, watches how you move and cares about your body and how it feels, come and give us a go.

5 classes for $55.

Come and see what we’re all about. ❤️

This morning, I let myself cry

I think I have become so used to being the strong one that I sometimes forget I am allowed not to be.

I keep going. I teach my classes. I smile. I try to make people laugh. Sometimes successfully, other times not so much, haha.

I look after the people I love and do my best to hold everything together.

But sometimes, underneath that smile, I am struggling.

I am struggling to watch my mum grow more tired of being here by the day.

It isn’t that anyone tells me I have to stay strong. I just always feel I have to.

I had a dream last night, and throughout it I kept saying, “Help me.”

No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t make anyone hear me. I couldn’t get anyone to understand that I could no longer keep holding myself up.

Perhaps my dream was telling me something I haven’t wanted to admit.

That being strong doesn’t mean never falling apart.

That sometimes the bravest thing we can do is stop holding everything in and allow ourselves to feel what is actually there.

So this morning, I cried.

Not because I have given up.

Not because I am not strong.

But because I am human, and today I needed to put down everything I have been carrying for a little while.

Sometimes the person who holds everyone else up needs somewhere soft to fall, too.

Not every moment asks us to be strong. Some moments simply ask us to be honest about how we feel.
