Reiki Healer Kinesiology (pronounced kin-easy-ology) is a non-invasive, holistic approach to health and wellbeing.

Kinesiology can enable profound changes to be experienced emotionally, mentally and physically, thereby increasing a person's health and wellbeing. Merging Eastern and Western health philosophies, kinesiology's holistic approach balances the body's energies using the Chinese meridian system. Its effective results come from accessing the body's innate healing intelligence to restore balance and health to neurological and physiological function. Gentle muscle monitoring is used to discover areas of imbalance in the body, mind and energy systems. The findings may present themselves as physical pain, stress and the many other expressions of disease. Using muscle monitoring, multiple pathways can be identified to restore healthy balance. By reducing stress and pain, kinesiology opens the door to optimum health and wellbeing, allowing your mind, body and spirit to function at its best. Kinesiology can help improve a wide range of health issues, including:
• Allergies
• Depression
• Postural problems
• Low energy levels
• Learning and relationship difficulties
• Digestive and nervous disorders
• Low self esteem
• Hormonal issues
• Physical pain and sporting injuries
• Stress and anxiety
• Addictions
• Long term unresolved complaints
• Fears and phobias

Kinesiology can benefit everyone from the very young to the elderly. You don't have to be unwell to see a kinesiologist. People can benefit in many areas of their lives such as the achievement of goals, performance improvement and overall health and wellbeing.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your nervous system is simply change environments.

Step into a quiet room.
Roll out a mat.
Breathe a little slower than you were five minutes ago.

You don’t always need a breakthrough or some profound realization.

Sometimes the win is just giving yourself one hour where the outside noise turns down.

This is what happens when awareness follows you off the mat.

Not because you’re trying to practice yoga everywhere.
But because your body has learned how to notice balance, breath, and sensation in real life.

Sometimes regulation looks like a deep exhale.
Sometimes it looks like Warrior 3 in the grocery store aisle.

I think one of the biggest shifts we can make in our yoga practice is letting go of the idea that our bodies have to create a pose exactly the way someone else’s does.

Maybe our stance is shorter. Maybe we bend our knees. Maybe we use a block, a chair, or the wall. And maybe the version of the pose that works for us today looks different than it did five years ago.

That doesn’t mean we’re doing a lesser version of yoga.

The intention of the pose still matters. But there are often many ways to work toward that intention, depending on our bodies, our range of motion, and what we need that day.

And I think learning how to make those choices is part of learning yoga.

It’s something I continue to come back to in my own practice, too.

I talk about this and nine other things I wish every beginner knew in this week’s episode of Yoga for Longevity.

Sometimes yoga really does require a deep breath… and a quick check to make sure all your limbs are still attached. 😂🧘‍♀️
