Getting some hard earned acknowledgement!

THIS is the future of regional retail. 👏

Local products. Local makers. Local relationships.

Primalista Michelle Parker recently wrote a brilliant article for Inside Small Business about the rise of micro-manufacturing in regional Australia, drawing on her own experience running her Primal Alternative business in Narrogin, WA.

And this line really stood out:

“The retailers who thrive won’t be those with the longest supply chains, but those with the deepest local roots.”

Michelle isn’t just talking about it either. She’s doing it.

She’s producing grain-free food locally and building relationships with independent retailers across the WA Wheatbelt and Southwest, helping make great grain-free options available in communities where they can otherwise be pretty hard to find.

And she’s not alone.

Our Primalistas are producing incredible grain-free food in communities across Australia, creating an opportunity for independent retailers to stock something genuinely local, made by someone who lives and works in their community.

As Michelle says in her article, it creates a beautiful local-support loop: retailers support local makers, local makers support the local economy, and the community supports both.

Huge congratulations to Michelle for putting this conversation out there and sharing what she’s learning along the way. We love seeing our Primalistas becoming voices for small business and local food production in their own communities.

If you’re a retailer, café, IGA or health food store, have you found your local Primalista yet?

I must confess that I am extremely disappointed in DIPRD and the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries for not speaking out against the SPRAYING OF FARM DAMS WITH INSECTICIDES that are ‘highly toxic to aquatics 🦞and bees 🐝 as well as humans 🧑‍🌾!’ Below is the warning copied from a...

Some behind the scenes reasons to why I do what I do! Take a read :)

Micro-manufacuring allows regional consumers no longer content with the "city-leftovers" model of retail to buy what they really want.

Upgrade your sandwich game. 🥖🔄Supermarket Sandwich Bread: Refined wheat, quick glucose spikes, brain fog, and an empty stomach an hour later. Primal Alternative Almond Meal based Bread: Healthy fats, clean protein, steady blood sugar, and sharp mental clarity. 🧠💪The grain-free baking mixes use almond meal (some omit these for nut free options) as a foundational ingredient because it creates a beautiful, hearty texture while acting as a natural energy stabiliser. It satisfies your bread cravings completely, without the physical toll of processed grains. Perfect for: Toast with your morning eggs 🍳Toasted sandwiches for lunch 🥪A quick, nutrient-dense snack to smash the afternoon slump 🔋Ditch the factory-made loaves and bake something that actually feeds your potential. DM me to grab your premium mixes for this week's bake day! 📦🥣

Let’s talk about a hidden number lurking in your "healthy" supermarket bread: Additive 1442 🔍⚠️If you flip over a commercial gluten-free loaf, you will almost always see an ingredient called Modified Tapioca Starch (1442)—chemically known as Hydroxypropyl Distarch Phosphate. This isn't just regular tapioca. It is a highly processed, chemically altered starch designed by factories to withstand harsh industrial processing and extend shelf-life. It acts as a cheap filler and can be incredibly tough on a sensitive gut lining. 🏭❌When you buy a Primal Alternative By Michelle Baking Mix, or fresh loaf, you will see "tapioca flour" on the back. But let’s clear something up: I never, ever use Modified Starch 1442. Our tapioca flour is 100% natural, unrefined, and a root vegetable starch. We use mindful amounts purely as a natural binder so your home-baked loaves hold together beautifully without the use of industrial chemicals. 🥖🌿You deserve a kitchen free from chemical numbers. Take control of your baking—grab a "clean" baking mix this week by dropping me a DM! 🥣📦

Notice to all my wonderful Primal People: Orders are now closed until further notice. 🛑👋It is time for my annual mid-year break! I am stepping away from the baking bowls for a little while to rest, reset, and recharge the batteries so I can come back fresh and ready to bake your favourite nutrient-dense mixes and loaves. 🧘‍♀️✨A huge thank you to everyone who placed their orders over the last few weeks to stock up their freezers! Make sure to keep an eye on this page for updates on when the kitchen will be reopening. In the meantime, enjoy your own winter home-baking, stay cozy, and I will see you all very soon! 🥖❄️
