In my experience many yoga classes/teachers focus on flexibility in the poses, that's why some of those bendy pictures you see with yogis able to get their leg behind their head are so intimidating. Those extreme poses can lead to injury in even the most flexible and experienced yogi. In this class we focus on functional movements we need in daily life. Maintaining ease of movement improves the quality of our daily lives. The focus of this class is to build strength and so from that stable and safe place we can explore our range of mobility with these functional movements. This class will incorporate a well rounded journey through the whole body, particular emphasis is on the core. We will explore hips, shoulders, core, hamstrings, some standing poses for strength, some stretches and balancing poses. Expect to come away feeling like you've had a workout that gently challenges and yet leaves you feeling invigorated and empowered. If you have any questions or need more information, feel free to contact me.

This sauna looks great, particularly because it’s an outdoor sauna.

Below is a comment from one of my beloved yoga teachers, Leila Stuart. I completely agree with what she says. When we are in a yoga asana (union of mind, body, spirit) can we bring ALL of who we are to the pose?

“There are so many things out there being called Yoga that probably shouldn’t be called Yoga. I always go back to the meaning of the word, “to link”, to “join” and ask “when I do this movement, can I integrate ALL of who I am into it?” – body, breath, energy, mind, Meaning, Spirit.
Any movement can be Yoga because of the state in which it is done and the state which it invokes, but not all of the movement that is being called Yoga out there is actually Yoga. ”

TRAUMA & Visionary Craniosacral Therapy
Experiences that are too overwhelming or traumatic to cope with can remain in your system, locking your body in a ‘fight, flight or freeze’ state without you even realising it (it’s like a fish saying “what water that I swim in?”). The long term effects of this unresolved trauma can include feelings of dissociation, stress and hypervigilance and can lead to illness and dis-ease. Craniosacral Therapy works particularly well with trauma by gently facilitating your body and brain to resolve held experiences without the need to revisit the original traumatic incident.
Everyone can benefit.
Visionary Craniosacral Therapy is gentle, hands on and non invasive.
If you have any questions about whether this is the right modality for you, feel free to reach out for a conversation.

Bookings essential 0404 945027These small group classes are designed to nurture a sense of safety, self-acceptance, mental, physical and emotional well-being. They focus on maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, and mobility, which are essential for a vibrant and active life as we age. Through gentle, yet effective movement, participants are encouraged to connect with their bodies in a compassionate and mindful way, honouring individual needs and limitations.
Beyond physical benefits, these classes also promote mental clarity, emotional balance, and a sense of community, offering a supportive environment where everyone feels welcome and empowered.
