We have undergone extensive training in Laser Safety and Tattoo Removal. If lightening is what you are after, I will work with your tattoo artist or one of our in house artists so that we can get the best results for your cover up. Lightening a tattoo before a cover up gives you and your tattoo a lot more freedom when it comes to choosing a new tattoo. Tailored Tattoo Removal is not a clinic, so unlike other laser tattoo removal clinics I am covered in tattoos and know what it’s like to have a few regretful tattoos on me. Therefore I understand what you need to get the best results for a quality cover up. Tailored Tattoo Removal also work with some of the best Artists in Melbourne that are more then happy to consult with you on a new tattoo design. Why can your tattoo sometimes look darker after your first laser session? 👀

It can come down to the pigments used in the tattoo ink. Certain inks can temporarily darken when they react with the laser.

So instead of immediately getting lighter, you may notice the tattoo darken over the first couple of treatments before it begins to break down and fade.

It doesn’t necessarily mean the tattoo can’t be removed. It can simply mean the process may take a little longer and requires the right approach. 💥

Another DM we get asked all the time… 👀

“Can you turn the laser up higher so I need fewer sessions? I don’t mind if it hurts more.”

Higher settings don’t automatically mean faster results.

The goal is to use the most effective setting your skin can safely tolerate. Going too high, too quickly can increase the risk of pigmentation, scarring and skin damage without speeding up the process.

Your body still needs time to clear the broken-down ink, so we’d rather protect your skin than rush your results. 🤝💥

A good clinic should take the time to assess you properly, answer your questions, set realistic expectations and be willing to tell you when it’s not safe to treat.
