My name is Maëva, I developed an interest in body awareness and movement control, leading me to become an holistic Personal trainer, Yoga and Pilates Instructor and I'm more aware (not to say obsessed) of muscle imbalance and postural dysfunction. I've decided to undertake two intensive courses to understand the primary injuries from the hips, knee and shoulder pain. Weight loss can be challenging to manage, especially after one or multiple births, but also after 35+ when hormone imbalances start to appear because of Pre-menopausal symptoms. Hence, I recently put these two subjects into my pocket to understand factors, discomfort, and obstacles during those stages. I would love to help you achieve your goals, whatever they are.

Back to weights after two cardio days!

Thursday was cycling, Friday was Reformer cardio, and today was the last strength session of this program.

My period is coming soon, and everything felt harder than usual 🥱

Still managed to add an extra set while waiting for a machine 😎

Running tomorrow… then I need to find time to plan my next program! 😅

Getting older changes things. But you can still build strength and make progress at any age.

My oldest client is 74, and after four years of training together, she's still making progress!

Your age matters, but so do your lifestyle, experience, injuries and recovery.

The key? Training in a way that works for YOU.

Age matters. Progress is still possible.

You probably think I only do Pilates and yoga… but I actually love lifting weights!

I just turned 40, and my training looks a little different these days.

I used to spend 2 hours at the gym. Now, I aim for about an hour, 3–4 times a week.

This year has been challenging, and I even stopped training for almost 2 months.

But I'm finding my rhythm again.

Also, I never used to film my workouts. I just wanted to train! 😂 So bear with my camera angles.

Still learning. Still building muscle. Still getting stronger at 40.

Going heavier isn’t the only way to progress.
Tempo is one way to make the same weight more challenging.

Try 3 seconds down, hold for 1 second, then stand up.

Useful when the next dumbbell feels too heavy or just awkward to hold.

Not feeling your quads on step-ups?

Try letting your shin travel a little further forward while keeping your whole foot connected to the box.

More knee flexion generally means more demand on the quads.

Small change. Different emphasis.

Personal training starts before the program.

First, I want to know your goals, your starting point, and how you move.

Then we build from there. 💪

Feel your crunches more in your neck than your abs?

Next time, notice where you’re reaching from.

Less neck. More curl through your upper body.

Small change. Big difference.

This one means a lot 🤍

When Kerrie first came to me, her goal was to better understand her body, build confidence with movement, and gradually become stronger.

Six months later, she feels stronger, more confident at the gym, and she’s noticing changes in her body too.

It hasn’t always been a straight path. We’ve had to make adjustments along the way, listen to her body, and sometimes take things a little slower — but that’s also part of progress.

Thank you, Kerrie, for trusting me and for taking the time to write such meaningful feedback. It really means a lot.

The right training volume isn't always the same.

Stress, sleep, work, fatigue… they all matter.

If you're struggling with your usual training, try adjusting the volume. Fewer sets, shorter sessions, and focus on what matters most right now.

When you have more energy, slowly add more again.

Adjusting doesn't mean you're going backwards.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t the movement. It’s making space for it.

An hour to slow down. Move. Breathe. Switch off.
Sometimes, that’s all you need.

This month I’m bringing a little bit of that to a few UKO locations around Sydney.

Glebe ✓ Next: Stanmore, Redfern, Ultimo & Potts Point.
