Plastic Surgeon Dr Marion Chan shares insights from her clinical experience on patient perceptions around laser treatments.
She highlights a common challenge in practice, where fear and misconceptions shape how patients initially view laser procedures.
“𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙙 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙞𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙧 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨.”
Dr Chan explains that education plays a key role in shifting this perception and helping patients understand the true purpose of treatment.
“𝙒𝙚 𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙬𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙧 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙙𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙤𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙖 𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙙.”
When patients understand that isn't about aggression, it's about precision, safety, and real results, everything changes.
