🌸 World Menopause Day – You're NOT going crazy! 🌸
Lately, I've been seeing so many women in clinic experiencing perimenopause symptoms. And when we start chatting about what's happening, I often hear the question…
"Is perimenopause a NEW thing?!" 🤔
No, ladies… it’s definitely NOT new! ❤️
I think for many years, we simply referred to the whole experience as menopause, without really understanding or talking about the transition that happens beforehand.
Perimenopause is the stage leading up to menopause, when our hormones fluctuate and we can start experiencing changes in our cycles, sleep, mood, energy, memory, weight and so much more.
And here's a little fact that surprises many women…
🌿 Menopause is actually a point in time, not a phase that lasts for years! It's officially reached after 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period, provided there isn't another explanation.
The years leading up to it? That's perimenopause… and for some women, it can feel like a complete rollercoaster ride! 🎢
You might feel like you're not quite yourself, wonder why your sleep is suddenly disrupted, why your patience has disappeared or why your body seems to be doing things it never did before.
You're not going crazy! You're not imagining it, and you don't have to simply put up with it. 💕
🌸 I've written an article to help you understand what's happening and reassure you that you're not alone.
