Breastfeeding🤎🤎🤎
For me, I absolutely loved it. Completely surrendering as a first-time mama, trusting my baby & trusting my body as we learned together🥹
Its pretty special neither of us had done it before, yet somehow we found our rhythm🌹
Like all things, breastfeeding came with both highs and lows. It wasn’t always easy, but I am so incredibly grateful my experience and everything it taught me.
If I could share a few things with a new mama preparing to breastfeed, it would be this:
🤍 If something doesn’t feel quite right, trust your intuition. Use your voice. If you don’t feel heard, find someone who will listen. You deserve support, and so does your baby
🤍 Research colostrum before your baby arrives. I only learned about it in the hospital being encouraged to express to start labour, that was the first time I'd ever heard of it and obviously felt so overwhelmed. Preparing beforehand is invaluable. Colostrum is liquid gold—a powerhouse full of antibodies and nutrients. If I were blessed with another baby, I would absolutely store colostrum before birth
🤍 Breast milk is incredible. It’s living, constantly changing to meet your baby’s needs, providing nourishment, comfort, hydration, and immune support in ways that are truly remarkable
🤍 Book a photogragher to capture breastfeeding moments in all stages of your journey so you have special memories. If not this, take videos on your phone too!
🤍 If you feel called to (like i did) do something special & that feels rught for you to close your bf journey. Im sentimental and i booked a pottery class making a mug of my boodies (a small boobie and a full milk boobie to be precise) & it made me feel better when my journey came to a close!
