Yesterday I was reminded to have another look at my tarot birth card, which is calculated using your date of birth. Mine is The Emperor, a card that represents leadership, stability, responsibility and creating strong foundations.
I was talking about it with a friend yesterday, and the more we spoke, the more I started to realise just how much this card has reflected different parts of my life. Not necessarily in the way you'd first expect, either. 🥰
I've never really been someone who wants to be seen as a person of authority, or someone who knows more than everybody else. I've always preferred to be the person beside you, helping you figure things out, having a laugh along the way and making sure you feel comfortable enough to ask questions or give something a go.
And when I started looking back, I realised I've actually been doing this for most of my life!
I left school at the end of Year 10 and went straight into beauty therapy. I absolutely loved it, and after finishing my studies and receiving Student of the Year, I was asked to help train other students. I then moved into childcare, where I often found myself helping the trainees there too.
One thing I've always felt quite strongly about is that everyone learns differently. If I could see someone was struggling to understand something, I'd try explaining it another way or showing them how to do it rather than just repeating the same instructions. I never wanted someone to walk away feeling like they couldn't do something. I wanted them to feel encouraged, capable and proud of themselves when they got it.
Then came FIFO work, which was quite a change from beauty therapy and childcare! 😂 But once again, I found myself showing new people how to operate heavy machinery, helping them find their feet and eventually taking on the role of supervisor.
I'd never really connected all these different parts of my life. They were just jobs I'd done, experiences I'd had and people I'd met along the way.
But reflecting on The Emperor made me realise that perhaps I've always been drawn to helping people feel confident in themselves. Not by standing above them and telling them what to do, but by standing alongside them and helping them discover that they're capable of more than they might realise.
And now, here I am, working as a Psychic Medium, with my life taking me further into the spiritual world than I ever imagined it would.
When I think about my Moon Spirit psychic and spiritual workshops, I can see that same part of me coming through again. I don't want people to come along and feel like they're sitting in a classroom being taught by someone who has all the answers. I want them to feel like they've come along to spend an evening with a friend, where we can explore something we all have an interest in, learn from each other, have some fun and hopefully leave feeling a little more confident in ourselves. 🕯️
I absolutely love seeing people surprise themselves when they pick up on something during an activity, or watching someone who was initially a little unsure start to relax and get involved. And I love that people can come along not knowing anyone and leave having made new connections.
There's something really special about sharing a love of the spirit world with people who are just as curious and interested in exploring it as you are. ❤️
✨ I've got so many ideas for next year, and I'm really excited about being able to offer more opportunities for people to come together, develop their intuition, explore mediumship and experience that sense of love and connection that I've been so fortunate to experience through my own spiritual journey.
I don't ever want people to feel they need to believe exactly what I believe, or experience things the same way I do. I want to encourage them to explore, ask questions, trust their own experiences and find what feels right for them.
And perhaps that's what The Emperor means to me. Not being the person in charge, but being someone who can help create a space where others feel safe enough to grow. ✨
I thought I was moving into a completely different chapter of my life, but now I'm wondering whether all those years of teaching, encouraging and supporting others were actually preparing me for what I'm doing today.
It's amazing what you can discover about yourself when you take the time to reflect, isn't it?
And to think, all of this came from revisiting one tarot card yesterday! 😂❤️
And now I'm curious... have you ever worked out your own tarot birth card? 🥰
If you'd love to know which tarot card is connected to your birthday and what it traditionally represents, pop a ❤️ in the comments or send me a private message. I'd be more than happy to work it out for you! xx
