Some people call in sick due to "a poor night's sleep."
For others, it's just a part of the job.

The human body doesn't recover from a lack of sleep, and you can't sleep more to reverse the damage.

Outside of service, chronic sleep disturbance affects over 70% of veterans living with service-related trauma or physical pain.

A sleep condition needs to be properly diagnosed. Without the right treatment or therapy, nothing will change.

With the right guidance, we can ensure you receive the right contacts to get yourself on the way to a decent night's sleep.

Veteran owned & operated, AVAC is a specialist DVA claims advocate service, providing expert and compassionate guidance through claims, reviews and appeals.

You don't need to have been knocked unconscious to suffer permanent neurological strain.

Research shows over 28% of ADF personnel have experienced a mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) during their service.

This rises to 40%–50%+ for personnel in high-blast environments, such as artillery, combat engineering, infantry breaching, armour, and special forces.

Years of heavy calibre recoil, artillery fire, breaching charges, and vehicle shockwaves take a cumulative toll. Low-level blast exposure alters brain function in ways that rarely show up on a standard hospital scan.

Because symptoms of blast overpressure (brain fog, memory lapses, irritability, sleep dysfunction) mirror PTSD, an estimated 40%+ of veterans with blast-induced neuro-trauma are initially misdiagnosed or evaluated solely for psychological conditions rather than neurological trauma.

It takes understanding to ensure medical records deliver the full picture, the right referrals, the right process, and the right outcome.

"Someone else needs the help more than I do."

It is the single most common phrase spoken by veterans living with daily physical pain, broken sleep, and operational fatigue.

Over 50% of veterans delay or avoid lodging DVA claims for years because they feel their injuries aren't "severe enough" compared to others.

DVA entitlements are not a finite pie.

You filing for what you earned does not take a single cent away from another digger.

With headline processing times for complex claims stretching past 300 days, waiting until your pain becomes unbearable leaves you without a safety net when you need it most.

You earned your entitlements. We make the process straightforward so you and your family can step forward with confidence.

Slight pain and soreness in your younger years can lead to degeneration and disability in your older years.

Acute musculoskeletal injuries (knees, ankles, spine) represent the single most common physical health issue among Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel, while administrative complexity in processing veteran claims leads to widespread delays and dropped applications.

51% of younger veterans (aged 18–49) report actively avoiding or failing to follow through with seeking medical and mental health support because the bureaucracy is too hard to navigate.

Just 23% of veterans who attempt to process claims on their own find the system manageable. Conversely, 76% successfully navigate the process when working alongside experienced veteran advocates.

These dogs undergo years of rigorous, specialised training to function as a direct extension of your nervous system.

They help give back independence.

This includes proven research to utilise deep pressure therapy, leaning their body weight firmly against you to force your heart rate and nervous system back down.

They actively interrupt pacing or hyperventilating. If a crowd gets too heavy, they know how to navigate the quickest route to an exit, taking the mental load off your shoulders when overstimulation kicks in.

Actively standing behind you in queues to create a physical buffer so you don't constantly have to scan the room.

Understanding a dark or enclosed space enough to move ahead to establish the space and let you know it's safe to step inside.

By your side at night, they detect the sudden shift in your breathing, sweat, and movement, stepping in to wake you with physical contact before the nightmare takes hold.

They are a working partner built to share the burden of hypervigilance so you don't have to carry the watch alone.

These dogs require 6 to 18 months of training, costing $30,000 - $50,000 with certification.

An estimated 15,000+ veterans could clinically benefit from a psychiatric assistance dog, yet the DVA program has placed only a few hundred dogs nationwide since its official rollout.

We want to make this more accessible, and can ease the process and give you a far better understanding of what you are entitled to.

You served your country. Most importantly, you provided for your family.

The missed milestones, the relocations, and the physical or mental toll you bring home, they live through every bit of it.

22% of our ex-service members do not get the choice to continue providing post-service.

Yes, the DVA does cover family members and dependants, but they shouldn't be penalised for it.

Our stance on this is non-negotiable: We charge $0 on dependant payouts. Not a single dollar.

Every cent of dependant support goes straight to your family. No advocate fees, no percentages taken, and no exceptions.
