Somewhere along the way, so many of us learnt that being a good mum meant giving more and more of ourselves away.
Our time.
Our energy.
Our dreams.
Our health.
Our needs.
And then we wonder why we barely recognise ourselves anymore.
I love being a mum and feel so blessed that I get to be there for my daughter as she grows up through allll the different phases of life.
That I get to choose, every single day, how i show up for her and help create the best childhood I can.
But I don’t believe anymore, that loving my child requires me to disappear completely to the point of depletion.
I want her to grow up seeing a woman who loves her deeply and models how to love herself too.
A woman with dreams.
Joy.
Faith.
boundaries.
interests.
And a purposeful life.
Because empowered motherhood, to me, isn’t about becoming less devoted to our children.
It’s about remembering that we’re still here too.
And that the two can coexist through all the joy, all the challenges, and all the beautiful messiness motherhood brings. 🤍💜
