❤️ Lourdes and visiting the Grotto was an absolute must for me. ❤️
From the moment I arrived, I felt there was something very special about this place. I was overwhelmed seeing so many sick and vulnerable people making their way to the Grotto, each carrying their own hopes, prayers and reasons for being there. Watching them pray to Mother Mary touched my heart deeply. It made me reflect on how much faith and hope people around the world do have , even during the most difficult times.
One of the things I really wanted to experience for myself was the holy water. There were rows of taps where people could drink from the water and bring their own containers to fill , and I remember feeling so grateful just to be there. But I was especially lucky to have the opportunity to be taken into the baths. I honestly felt incredibly blessed to have been given that chance. Being guided by the volunteers to the bathing rooms then placed into the pool of water was a very unbelievable and humbling experience for me. I felt a deep sense of peace while I was there, and it is something I will never forget. 🙏
I then went to pray at the candle bays, and this was another moment that really stayed with me. Seeing hundreds and hundreds of candles burning as people stood quietly praying for their loved ones, for healing, for wellbeing and for their own personal wishes was absolutely a sight to see . 🕯️❤️
Standing there amongst all those candles, I found myself thinking about my own prayers and the things that are important to me. It was peaceful, emotional and incredibly humbling. I felt connected to something much bigger than myself.
What amazed me even more was that everything within the Sanctuaires Notre-Dame de Lourdes was totally free. There was no cost to enter, to pray, to visit the Grotto, to drink the water or to take part in the baths. To me, in today environment it was overwhelming to see — everyone, regardless of their circumstances, could come here seeking comfort, hope, healing and peace.
I feel genuinely grateful that I had the opportunity to experience Lourdes in this way. I went there with an open heart to just see and I left feeling deeply touched, humbled and thankful. ❤️🙏
❤️ The experience will be with me forever ❤️
