The wheelchair became the symbol for disability, and now it's the picture most people think of in their heads.

This isn't the whole story. Chronic illness. Mental health. Intellectual disability. Autism. Chronic pain. Hearing loss. Acquired brain injury. Conditions that flare one week and settle the next. You'd pass most of these people in the street and never know.
