If you've been told your loved one's needs are too complex, we built Nurse Assist 24/7 for exactly that.

Most providers say yes to the easy cases and quietly avoid the rest. Complex medical needs, high-intensity support, behaviours of concern - our team is built to handle these situations.

I'm Ray-Charles, Business Development Manager. If you've already heard no somewhere else, that doesn't mean no is the answer everywhere.

Click the link in our bio to reach out about respite for your child or loved one. It’s a simple first step to help you understand the NDIS and what comes next, including preparing for Supported Independent Living when the time is right.

Got a child with complex behaviours?

If there's a positive behaviour support practitioner already involved, we lean on their framework and strategies. If there isn't one yet, we sit down with the parents ourselves.

Sometimes that means having a strategy ready for a specific trigger. Other times it's recognising someone is overstimulated and just needs space, then gently redirecting them away from it.

It's a long process, not a quick fix, but it starts with genuinely understanding the family and the complexity they're dealing with.

If this is something you're navigating, get in touch.

💗 National Carers Week | 11–17 October

Behind many people receiving support is a carer who gives their time, energy and love every day.

This week, we recognise the parents, partners, family members and friends who make a difference in the lives of those they care for.

To every carer: you deserve to be supported, heard and appreciated, too.

Let’s check in, offer a helping hand and remind the carers in our lives that they don’t have to do everything alone.

At Nurse Assist 24/7, we believe meaningful support recognises the person receiving care and the people who stand beside them.

💗 Care for a carer. Making carers visible.

Meet Denae, House Supervisor at our Penguin Road homes.

We have six units here and a wide range of disabilities and abilities across them.

Day to day, Denae moves between the units making sure everyone's wellbeing is looked after, from daily personal care through to transitions like bed to hoisting and getting people out into the community.

Our motto is to serve with love, and to love to serve, and Denae describes that’s exactly what it’s like to work at Nurse Assist 24/7.

🧠 World Mental Health Day | 10 October
This World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded that being heard matters.

For people living with disability or psychosocial disability, meaningful support starts with listening — understanding their experiences, respecting their choices and supporting them as individuals.

Lived experiences heard. Real voices. Real change.
Let’s create more spaces where people feel heard, valued and supported.

This is our farm stay in Wellard, and it exists for one reason - respite for kids.

For kids with complex behaviours, having room to get out on the mountain bikes, explore the property, and interact with nature does nothing but good.

We've got sheep on the property, and a chicken coop where kids can collect fresh eggs in the morning. Inside, there's an open living space, a wooden fireplace, bedrooms down one wing of the house, and fully accessible bathrooms.

It's a genuinely engaging environment — and watching the sunset from here is something else.

Moving a young person from the family home into Supported Independent Living is a process we take seriously from day one.

We start by assessing the reports we're given and making sure they match the reality of the person.

From there, we look at what needs attention, and work out which staff will genuinely be the right fit to support them.

The first four to six weeks are critical for settling someone into a new SIL home. Get the staffing wrong in that window, and the whole process gets a lot harder.

Throughout it all, we keep communication open with the family every step of the way. If you're thinking about this transition for your own family, we're happy to have a chat about what that could look like.
