Mawarnkarra Health Service is bringing men’s physiotherapy sessions to the Men’s Shed, delivered by Pilbara Therapy Services, starting Tuesday, 3rd November 2026 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

🫁 Lung Screening is Coming to Roebourne 🫁

The Heart of Australia mobile screening truck is coming to town as part of the National Lung Cancer Screening Program, and it will be set up right here at Mawarnkarra Health Service.

📅 Monday 26th - Tuesday 27th October
📍 Outside Mawarnkarra Health Service, rear entrance via Hampton St

This screening is for you if you are:
✅ 50-70 years old
✅ Someone with a history of smoking

Lung screening is a quick and easy check that can pick up problems early, when they are easier to treat.

You can get your referral now, come into the clinic and have a yarn with our team, or call us on (08) 9182 0850 to get your referral sorted before the truck arrives.

WICKHAM COMMUNITY – ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTHY HOMES BLITZ! 🏡

Mawarnkarra Health Service is coming to Wickham on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 October 2026 for our Environmental Health (EH) Blitz!

Our team joined by the Department of Housing and our stakeholders will be out and about in the community, visiting homes, undertaking minor maintenance, recording required maintenance issues, handing out hygiene packs and sharing practical information to help keep our homes healthy and comfortable.

INIVATION FOR THE COMMUNITY TO BE PART OF OUR SMOKE FREE VIDEO PROJECT! 🎥

Mawarnkarra’s Tackling Indigenous Smoking Team is creating a series of local videos celebrating healthy, smoke free and v**e free lifestyles across our community.

We want to hear your story, your voice and your community.

We are looking for: Youth, Elders, Mums to be, Families and People who have quit smoking

Over the next two weeks, our team will be out and about in the community offering diphtheria vaccinations and sharing information to help keep our families safe.

💪 🧡 Be part of the fight to end RHD in WA.

Alongside the Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia - AHCWA, The Kids Research Institute Australia and WA Country Health Service, Mawarnkarra Health Service are supporting the development of a 4-year plan to help end Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Diseases (RHD) in WA.

To make it happen, join us on Tuesday the 20th of October at the Ngurin Pilbara Aboriginal Centre to share what is working, what is missing and what we need in our community.

PILBARA MEN — YOU ARE INVITED! 🔥

Men from across the Pilbara are invited to come along to Men’s OCHRE 2026 at Yule River for two days of yarning, culture, health, connection and men’s wellbeing.

📅 Wednesday 7 October | 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
📅 Thursday 8 October | 8:30 am to 2:30 pm
📍 Yule River Rest Area and Riverbank

Come and enjoy yarning with Elders, storytelling, cultural activities, health checks, mental health support, health education and guest speakers, while connecting with other men from across the Pilbara.

🚌 Mawarnkarra Health Service will provide daily return transport for men from Roebourne, Karratha and Wickham, with pickup arrangements to be confirmed.

There will be 12 fun and interactive health and wellbeing stations, free health checks, activities, giveaways, and opportunities to connect with local services.

PILBARA LEGENDS TOURNAMENT

Binar Futures is pleased to be delivering the Roebourne Health Embassy as part of the 2026 Pilbara Legends Tournament, in partnership with Mawarnkarra Health Service and a range of other key organisations.

🕘 9:00am – 4:00pm
📍 Roebourne Basketball Courts

The Health Embassy will bring together a range of health, wellbeing and community service providers, offering health information, health checks, activities (12 stations), and opportunities for community members to connect with local services in a fun and engaging environment alongside the tournament.

This event is open to all community members and all ages.
🏀 Participants who complete all 12 Health Embassy stations will receive a FREE basketball and t-shirt.

We encourage community members, families and service providers to come along and be part of the day.
