On Saturday 28th November, I’m inviting you to join me for a beautiful morning together at the gorgeous Hopetoun Grove here in Rutherglen.

COME HOME — A Harvest Yoga Mini Retreat
🌿 Saturday 28th November
🌿 9am–1pm
🌿 Hopetoun Grove, Rutherglen

The idea is simple. To step away from the busyness of everyday life for a few hours and give yourself the space to slow down, breathe deeply, move mindfully and reconnect with yourself.

We’ll spend three hours immersed in slow, steady and connecting yoga, allowing time to settle into our bodies, quieten the noise and simply be.

No rushing. Nothing to achieve. Nowhere else you need to be.

We finish our practice with Massage & Restorative Yoga before we gather together in the grove for a nourishing lunch.

Good movement, good food, good company and a little space just for you.

I love the idea of taking our practice beyond the studio walls and spending a morning together in nature. There’s something special about having the time and space to connect a little more deeply, both with ourselves and with the people around us.

And after all the wonderful mornings, evenings and moments we’ve shared on our mats at Harvest, it feels lovely to create an opportunity to come together in a different way.

Consistency.

Sounds boring, doesn’t it?

It’s not flashy.
It doesn’t give you an overnight transformation.
There’s no quick fix or magic pose.

But it’s bloody effective.

Coming to your mat when you feel like it.
And sometimes when you don’t.

Building strength slowly.
Moving your body regularly.
Learning to breathe a little better.
Getting to know yourself.
Returning after the weeks when life gets in the way.

It’s the small things, repeated over and over, that create change.

Not because you smashed yourself every time.
Not because you were perfect.
But because you kept showing up.

Yoga was never meant to be something we do for a few weeks and then tick off the list.

It’s a practice for life.

And honestly, I’d take consistent and imperfect over perfect and occasional every single time.

Keep showing up.

Your future body, mind and self will thank you for it. šŸ¤

Our last week of term 3!

A term of wobbly balances, big stretches, quiet moments, plenty of laughter — and lots of little humans learning to connect with themselves.

Kids Yoga isn’t about getting the poses ā€œrightā€.

It’s about learning to notice how we feel.
To breathe when things feel hard.
To be kind to ourselves.
To slow down.
To have a go, wobble, laugh and try again.

These are skills that stay with them long after they leave the yoga mat.

A big thank you to all our wonderful kids (and their grown-ups) for showing up and making our studio such a lovely place to be. šŸ¤

And… Term 4 is coming!

We’re getting ready for another term of movement, mindfulness, connection and a whole lot of fun.

🌱 Kids Yoga Club — Term 4 enrolments opening soon.

Come and grow with us.

MOBILITY **

Mobility is your ability to move your joints through a comfortable, controlled range of motion.

It’s strength.
It’s control.
It’s freedom.
It’s being able to move your body with more ease.

And as we get older, mobility becomes something worth paying attention to.

Because we want to keep doing the things we love — bending, reaching, squatting, twisting, getting up and down from the floor, playing with the kids, gardening, moving through our yoga practice… living well in our bodies.

Good mobility can help you:
→ move with greater ease
→ improve body awareness and control
→ support strength and stability
→ reduce that feeling of stiffness and restriction
→ feel more confident in your movement

And perhaps the best part?

It feels really good.

That feeling of creating space where you felt stuck.
Finding movement where there was restriction.
Slowing down enough to actually feel what your body needs.

We asked Dan what he would say to a man who has been thinking about trying yoga but hasn’t quite made it through the studio door yet.

His answer felt very raw.

Yoga isn’t about fitting a certain mould, touching your toes or already knowing what you’re doing.

It’s a practice.

A place to move, breathe, challenge yourself, slow down and perhaps discover something about yourself along the way.

And yes, sometimes walking into your first class can feel uncomfortable.

But you’re unlikely to be the only person who has ever felt that way.

Come as you are.
No experience necessary.
No flexibility required.

Just start.

Thanks Dan, for sharing your perspective. šŸ¤

✨ New Mobility Class with Steph ✨

What exactly is mobility?

Mobility is your ability to move your joints through their full range of motion with strength, control and confidence. It’s about creating freedom in your body—not just stretching muscles, but improving the way you move in everyday life.

Whether it’s reaching overhead, getting down to the floor, gardening, picking up your kids or simply feeling less stiff, better mobility can make all of these things feel easier.

The best part? You don’t need to be flexible to begin.

This class is beginner-friendly, welcoming and designed for real people. No complicated choreography or intimidating movements—just straightforward, easy-to-follow exercises that help you move and feel better.

Steph has a wonderfully easygoing nature that immediately puts people at ease. She explains everything clearly, offers options along the way, and creates a relaxed, supportive environment where you can simply show up as you are.

Come along, have a laugh, learn something new about your body, and discover just how good moving well can feel.

Everyone is welcome. 🌿

If you had told 19-year-old me that yoga would become such a defining part of my life, I wouldn’t have believed you.

What began as a physical practice slowly became something much deeper.

Over the years, yoga has met me in every season of life.

In the ambitious years.
The uncertain years.
The years of becoming a mother.
The years of building a business.
The years where confidence came easily.
And the years where self-doubt sat heavily on my shoulders.

Yoga has never asked me to be more flexible, stronger, younger, calmer, or better.

It has simply asked me to show up.

Again and again.

Not perfectly.
Not gracefully.
Not with all the answers.

Just honestly.

The older I get, the less interested I am in what yoga looks like from the outside, and the more interested I am in how it helps us live.

How it teaches us to listen.
To soften.
To stay.
To breathe when things feel hard.
To trust ourselves.
To keep beginning.

I still get excited when I land an arm balance I’ve been practicing but this isn’t the main celebration.

It’s about celebrating a practice that has helped me become more myself.

A practice that continues to humble me, challenge me, comfort me, and remind me that growth rarely happens all at once.

It happens breath by breath.

To every student who has ever stepped into the studio, rolled out a mat, and chosen themselves for an hour—thank you.

What a privilege it is to walk this path together.

Meditation isn’t about getting it right.

It’s not about an empty mind.
It’s not about feeling calm every time.
And it’s certainly not about being ā€œgoodā€ at it.

Some days meditation feels spacious and quiet.

Other days it’s restless.
Messy.
Uncomfortable.

Your mind wanders.
Your legs ache.
You replay conversations.
You make shopping lists.

This isn’t failure.

This is the practice.

Meditation offers us a rare opportunity to sit with ourselves exactly as we are. No distractions. No fixing. No performing.

Just noticing.

Noticing the thoughts.
The emotions.
The tension in the body.
The stories we’ve been carrying.

In a world that constantly encourages us to move away from discomfort, meditation gently asks us to stay.

To witness.

To become aware.

And in that awareness, we gain something incredibly valuable: insight.

A deeper understanding of where we are.
What we’re feeling.
What we’re avoiding.
What we might need.

Meditation creates a container where everything is welcome—the peaceful moments and the chaotic ones.

Because the goal isn’t perfection.

The goal is presence.

And every time you choose to sit, whether your mind feels quiet or wildly busy, you are strengthening your capacity to meet yourself with honesty, compassion, and curiosity.

Perfectly imperfect.

Just like being human.

Hi, I’m Genevieve (Gen), founder of Harvest Yoga Rutherglen.

I didn’t set out to build a yoga studio. I simply followed a path that, over time, felt impossible to ignore.

I’m a scientist on paper, my work is grounded in a Bachelor of Exercise Science and over 10,000 hours of teaching experience, but my greatest teachers have always been the people who walk through the studio doors. Their stories, challenges, growth, and courage continue to shape the way I teach.

Alongside yoga, I work as a Bowen Therapist and am currently studying Somatic Movement Exercise, deepening my understanding of how the body stores, expresses, and ultimately heals through movement and awareness.

Like many women, I juggle the beautiful chaos of family life, business ownership, and the endless balancing act of trying to do all the things well.
I know imposter syndrome like an old friend, I know perfectionism. I know the feeling of wondering whether I’m doing enough.

But I also know this:
Teaching yoga is the thing that consistently brings me home. it’s a calling, I am meant to be doing this.
Not because I have all the answers, but because I get to witness something extraordinary. I get to watch people reconnect with themselves. To see confidence grow. To watch someone realise they are stronger, softer, more capable, and more whole than they believed.

My classes aren’t about perfect poses or performing on a mat. They’re about creating a space where people can breathe, move, feel, and remember who they are beneath the noise of everyday life.
If there’s one thing I hope people leave with after practising with me, it’s not greater flexibility or a more advanced yoga pose (although you will likely see this too), It’s a deeper trust in themselves.

Because in the end, yoga isn’t about becoming someone else.

It’s about discovering a version of yourself that feels like home.
