Great Disability Support Pty Ltd Providing quality Support Workers for Plan-Managed and Self-Managed NDIS recipients.

We believe that people with disability deserve the same rights and opportunities provided to all members of society - a life of purpose, community involvement, to be heard and treated with respect, to choose their direction and to experience the joy of achievement. Our mission is to provide trained, caring, proactive support workers for NDIS recipients who are Plan-Managed and Self-Managed. Collaborating with our clients and carers, we design a progressive personalised blueprint to assist them in achieving their goals and dreams. Our workers are committed to supporting the growth and self-development of each client, as they actively participate with them in their plan. We maintain our quality service by building strong relationships with our clients, focussing on regular contacts and open channels of communication, to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

⭐️ The humans behind GDS ⭐️

There are many different people who help make GDS what it is.

Each person brings their own experience, personality, and care to the work they do.

In this next instalment, we’re introducing another human behind GDS. 🫶

A few light questions.

This Mental Health Week, we’re reminded how important it is to check in with ourselves and each other.

A kind conversation, a bit of support, or simply knowing someone is there can make a real difference. 🌻

Take care of yourself, and check in on the people around you too. 🫶

🌟 It’s not just grocery shopping.🌟

For many participants, a trip to the shops can be part of something much bigger.

It can be an opportunity to:
🥦 Plan meals for the week
✏️ Write a shopping list
💲 Budget and make choices
🛒 Find items in the store
👥 Communicate with staff
💰 Practice paying independently
🫶 Build confidence in the community

These everyday moments matter.

They can support routine, decision-making, communication, and independence in practical ways that connect back to a participant’s goals.

This is what purposeful support can look like in real life. 🫶

⭐️The humans behind GDS⭐️

Behind every roster, phone call, and support shift is a real person who cares about doing this work well.

We know choosing a provider is personal. You’re trusting people to come into your home, communicate clearly, and follow through.

That’s why, from time to time, we’ll be introducing the humans behind GDS. 🫶

Shoutout to Cynthia, for the calm, thoughtful way she supports our participants. 🤩

Through consistent encouragement, she has helped build confidence, support everyday independence, and put simple routines in place that make day-to-day life easier.

This is what purposeful support can look like. 🫶
Respectful.
Practical.
And focused on real progress over time.

RUOK? 💛

Today is a gentle reminder to check in on the people around us.

A simple “are you okay?” can mean a lot, especially when someone is carrying more than they let on.

And if you’re not okay, it’s okay to reach out. 🌻

You’re not alone. 🫶

Independence looks different for everyone.

It is not about doing everything alone, and it is not about taking over either.

Good support means working with participants at whatever level they can do things for themselves, while being there to support them where they need help.

That can look different for each person, and that is exactly the point.

At GDS, we believe support should be purposeful, respectful, and built around the person. 🫶

🌟A little look at what a Friday can look like for our Team Leaders at GDS. 🌟

Some of the day is spent together. Some of it is out on the road visiting participants. Some of it is planning, problem-solving, welcoming new team members, and making sure the week keeps moving. 🚗

No two days look exactly the same, but what matters to us stays the same.

Building a team that feels connected, supportive, and genuinely happy to be here, while staying focused on the people we support.

And of course, making time for birthday cake and a few laughs along the way matters too. 🎂

This is a small glimpse into the people behind the scenes at GDS and the kind of team culture we’re proud of. 🫶

Last week, Kylie and Tash spent two days at the DSC NDIS Conference. 🌟

It was a great chance to step away from the day-to-day for a moment, listen, learn, and connect with others across the disability sector who care deeply about getting support right. 📖

These kinds of conversations matter to us. They remind us how important clear communication, consistency, and genuine care really are for the people we support and the families around them. 🌻

We came away with plenty to think about, and feeling even more committed to providing support that is respectful, purposeful, and grounded in what people actually need. 🌿

We’re grateful to be part of a sector full of people who want better for participants and families. 🫶
