It’s rare that I get out on supports these days, but it’s important to me that I do when I can. It keeps my passion going & that fire burning to drive harder. And it’s on the days I want to throw the towel in when some new system sh*ts me to tears that I think back to my moments of support from all of my previous years and currently what I get to dip my toes into occasionally and remember why I keep going.
Friday was supporting one of our Kk family members to deep clean his bedroom for a feeling of fresh starts & mental clarity, coffee in hand, country music up loud we had a ball and the change was incredible.
Saturday was attending the Caulfield Cup with another one of our family members - who finds great joy and enthusiasm in horse racing, where I learnt a few things about how to bet or how not too haha! Amazing atmosphere, depth of conversation, lots of laughs and a very joyful day for the both of us.
Now to today, Sunday. Where I spent 6 hours in the office rearranging our space, tidying, adding & moving to keep us fresh and ready to keep growing. To now sitting in bed where rostering and the boring behind the scenes of battling the system recommences.
Kindness Kare - our little company doing all of the heart felt things. Quietly achieving in filling the cups of others that fills ours in return. Minimal room for figures & KPIS. All the room for genuine heart and sacred connections. I’m so blessed 🤍🙏🏼

I turned 30 a few months ago, and I was so disappointed my professional goals were not where I’d envisioned them to be for that milestone. I wallowed in self pity momentarily, considered throwing the towel in for all of 3 seconds (until I focused on my reasons why) with a little negative self talk, an overload of positive to follow, I poured myself a glass of red, and did what us entrepreneurs do best.
One big pivot.
Genius mode activated, back to being my own biggest positive talking self loving fan. Mind in over drive it’s make or break it, it’s crunch time.
Re-think my strategies, equal restructure of business plans and thoughts simultaneously, new directions, acknowledgment of change, willingness to change, reflection of growth, recognition of all that’s been and brand new visions, new hope for all that’s to come.
Whilst the powers to be keep pushing to get us small players to tap out, us small players keep playing in the big leagues game. A certain number of us smaller players were even lucky enough to be raised with brothers who slammed us like WWE wrestlers, tapping out was not an option then, and it’s still not now.
Maybe on my 40th birthday the post will be the same, maybe I’ll have achieved some more goals, maybe I’ve failed a few times, all I know is I won’t stop.
Here’s to those who bite off more than they can chew but keep chewing anyway!

Recently we were denied money for supports provided to a palliative lady, an isolated and lonely lady who was dying the best she could with roadblocks, red tape and judgement all around her.
The plan manager thought we were “dodgy” or “non-compliant”because we had two phone numbers, and two office locations on Google. The service agreement, support coordinator and participant had no luck convincing her other wise.
I told her it’s called growth - she threatened me with reporting me to the commissions and I said great do that, not a problem at all.

Whilst the school yard mentality of this lady’s priority was to “undo my dodgy claim” my focus was on making sure this lady didn’t die alone over some p**s poor way somebody wanted to manage her funds.

We got her admitted into a great hospital and she received adequate pain relief. Her fear slowly went away, with the hospital staff, visits from myself and some of my staff during our own time, we gave her the quiet gentle moments of not feeling so alone.

We laughed. We cried. We watched her enjoy her last ci******es and coffee, we purchased her favourite foods, we sat in silence, we sat in conversation and held space. We held her hand.

And I’m so proud of my team, and myself for stepping up against the black and white rules and leading with genuine compassion, and proof that human kindness can outweigh anything.

Last night this lady found her peace, and my heart is so full because she did not die alone.

Go gently now mate 🤍

Why don’t we treat everyday like a funeral day?
Generally the day is a pause for reflection and honouring of an individual life that has ended here on earth.
You often find yourself sitting in nostalgia, for the smells, the memories, the moments shared.
You see the world differently on these days, like it all slows down. You shuffle busy tasks, you prioritise importance, you cancel plans. You become present. Present in the moment.
The grief.
The acknowledgment that life goes on in a different way now that their hearts are no longer beating.
That their physical presence is no longer seen.
We think of the good qualities we have, we boost our confidence and ego about who we were to them, and what we meant. We reflect on poor choices made throughout the duration of their lives shared with us, its human nature to question and so the questions and inner dialogue starts; did I do enough, should I have spent more time with them, did they know how much I loved them. Why was I so mean in middle school. Did I call grandma enough. Was I a supporting and loving friend. Were they happy. Am I happy. What’s the meaning of this big old life we all live. What’s our purpose.

Sitting with gentle thoughts & sympathy for the families of two inactive KK family members who went from community into care and have now both left us earth side. Nobody ever just “leaves” our family- they are always a thought or a text or phone call away. We hold and cherish every individual so dearly to our hearts. Maintaining contact with the families we have rapport with is such an honour for us. Both beautiful souls onto their next journey, thank you for allowing us to care for you 🤍🙏🏼🦋

“Do you think we ever get the chance
to talk with them again…
the ones we miss?” asked Rabbit.

“I think we already do,” said Bear.
“Every time we sit in the quiet
and open our hearts,
they meet us there…
different now,
but still themselves.”

Grandmas garden 🦋🌸 I can’t share the accurate photos of all we do, I scroll through my camera roll thinking how amazing it would be to share with you all so here’s a photo of my grandmas garden instead. Where time slows and the beauty allows you to breathe.

Grief has such an integral role in all I do- I carry love and grief in the same breath & capacity and move forward with them.
Honouring life and honouring death. Hand in hand.
Grief is integral in the way I work in this lifetime.
Professionally and personally sometimes a mix of both.

And grief has knocked me on my ass in more ways than one this past year.

I can’t disclose most of my life on socials due to the precious world we live in, oh how I’d love to share more, keep your eyes posted for a future book maybe..

Grateful for my world & those in it.

Kindness Kare is still very much here 🥰 we show up authentically in the trenches daily, rarely advertising for likes or promotion. Finding people make their way to us naturally when they need us most.

Our KK family is strong & mighty. So many blessings….

Forever honoured.

Over this Easter weekend, many take time to pause.

Good Friday invites reflection, a quiet moment to honour love, sacrifice, and the depth of what it means to care for one another.

Easter brings with it a sense of renewal, a gentle reminder that even after loss, there can be moments of light, connection, and new beginnings.

For some, this time is filled with gathering and celebration.
For others, it may feel tender, especially when someone is missing.

Wherever you find yourself this Easter, may you move gently with space for both reflection and hope, in whatever way feels right for you.

We are holding you in warmth and care💚
