Encore Support provides family focused Disability and Family Support for people aged 0-100.

Our services are available to Participants of the NDIS, Aged Care, Government Agencies and private funding.

🏇🥂 MELBOURNE CUP DAY — EXPECTATION VS REALITY! 😂💜

The plan: Fabulous frocks, fancy fascinators, ch*****ne in hand, and a glamorous day at the races! 💃🍾🐎

The reality: Pyjamas, dressing gowns, laptops, a warm bed and rain absolutely BUCKETING down outside! 🌧️💻☕

Somewhere between planning our race-day outfits and checking the weather forecast, Natalie and I decided that perhaps our Melbourne Cup celebrations would be better suited to a slightly less glamorous location... 😂

And by less glamorous, we mean working from bed, looking like we've just rolled out of it... because we have! 🤣

Unfortunately, the emails don't stop, the phones don't stop ringing, and the rosters certainly don't magically organise themselves just because it's Melbourne Cup Day!

So while the horses are racing around Flemington, we're racing through emails, shift changes and our never-ending to-do lists! 🏇💨

Same race, different track! 😂

The fascinators have been replaced with messy hair, the ch*****ne with coffee, and the fancy outfits with our finest fluffy dressing gowns.

But hey, we're warm, we're dry, and the laptops are charged. That's a win in our books! 🏆

Wishing all our wonderful Encore staff, participants and families a fabulous Melbourne Cup Day, however you're spending it!

😂💜 LIFE IS TOO SHORT NOT TO LAUGH!

Sometimes, the best moments in life are the ones you never planned!

The unexpected giggles. 🤭

The terrible jokes that somehow get funnier every time.

The spontaneous dance moves when your favourite song comes on. 💃

The silly faces, the cheeky comments and those moments when everyone just bursts into laughter!

💜📋 MONDAY NDIS TIP: KNOW WHAT YOU'RE AGREEING TO!

Have you ever been handed a Service Agreement full of information and wondered what it all actually means? 🤔

You're certainly not alone!

When you're arranging disability supports, understanding what you're agreeing to is an important part of maintaining choice and control.

✨ DID YOU KNOW?

The NDIS has recently released NEW resources to help participants and providers create clearer, easier-to-understand Service Agreements!

💜 HERE ARE 5 THINGS WORTH CHECKING:

✅ YOUR SUPPORTS — What services are being provided, when and how often?

✅ YOUR COSTS — How much will your supports cost? Are there additional charges for travel or other expenses?

✅ CANCELLATIONS — What happens if you need to cancel or change a scheduled support?

✅ YOUR CHOICES — Does the agreement reflect your individual needs, goals and preferences?

✅ YOUR RIGHTS — How can you provide feedback, raise concerns or make changes to your agreement?

🌈 REMEMBER...

A Service Agreement should help you understand your supports, not leave you feeling confused!

You can ask questions, request an accessible format, seek assistance to understand the agreement and discuss changes before agreeing.

💜 GREAT SUPPORT ISN'T ALWAYS ABOUT STEPPING IN... SOMETIMES IT'S ABOUT STEPPING BACK!

One of the most valuable skills a disability support worker can have is knowing when to help — and when to give someone the space to do something for themselves. 🌟

At Encore Support, we believe independence looks different for everyone.

Sometimes great support means...

💜 Giving someone the time they need to complete a task, rather than rushing to do it for them.

💙 Encouraging someone to make their own choices, even when those choices are different from our own.

💜 Celebrating the effort, not just the outcome.

💙 Supporting someone to try something new, while respecting their comfort levels and decisions.

💜 Recognising that needing assistance doesn't mean someone should lose control over how things are done.

Because the goal of good support isn't to make someone dependent on us. It's to empower them to live life on their own terms.

And here's something we think is worth remembering...

🌈💜 SOMETIMES THE BEST LEARNING HAPPENS OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM!
Who says learning new skills has to mean sitting at a desk? 🤔
At Encore Support, we know that some of the most meaningful opportunities for growth happen during everyday adventures!
A trip to the shops, an afternoon at the park or an outing with friends might look like a simple day of fun.
But there's often so much more happening behind the scenes! 💜
🛒 A shopping adventure can be an opportunity to practise making choices, handling money and communicating with others.
☕ Ordering at a café can help build confidence, independence and social skills.
🚌 Catching public transport can provide opportunities to develop travel skills and navigate the community.
