Sometimes support looks like a conversation. Sometimes it looks like simply walking alongside someone.

This Global Peer Support Day, weā€™re celebrating the value of lived experience, shared understanding and having someone beside you who gets it.

Thatā€™s a big part of what peer support means at Ignition Gamers. šŸ’™

šŸ¤ Whoā€™s someone whoā€™s made you feel understood just by being there?

Ever had something to sayā€¦ and somehow picked the exact wrong second to say it?

Thereā€™s a lot more happening in everyday conversation than just finding the right words. Gaming can make some of those tiny social moments easier to see.

šŸ‘‰ Swipe through, then tell us: Whatā€™s one skill youā€™ve noticed gaming bring out in someone?

Sometimes joining in starts before anyone picks up a controller.

A little watching. A little listening. A moment to figure out the room. It can all be part of finding your way in.

šŸ‘€ Are you a ā€œwatch firstā€ or ā€œjump straight inā€ person?

šŸŽ²FACT: You can't play Dungeons and Dragons on your own.

Our Dungeon Master can't run four separate adventures at once, so when someone decides they're climbing out the window instead of using the open door, everyone's got to figure it out together.

That's the best bit. Someone suggests something ridiculous, someone else finds a way to make it work, and the whole group ends up somewhere nobody planned.

Turns out teamwork's a lot more fun when there's a dragon involved.

You know the connection is real when game night endsā€¦ but the conversation doesnā€™t. šŸ˜‚šŸŽ®

You know that feeling when you stop wondering if you fit inā€¦ because you just do?

Belonging isnā€™t always one big moment. Sometimes, it shows up in the little things that quietly tell you, ā€œThereā€™s a place for me here.ā€

Swipe through, then tell us what belonging looks like to you.

šŸ’¬ Finish the sentence: ā€œI know I belong whenā€¦ā€

Sometimes the biggest win has nothing to do with the score.

Itā€™s knowing thereā€™s somewhere youā€™re welcome. Somewhere familiar faces are waiting. Somewhere you can show up, share something you love and feel part of it.

This Mental Health Month, weā€™re celebrating the spaces and people that remind us we donā€™t have to do life alone.

Not all social groups are designed to do the same thing.

If youā€™re exploring NDIS social groups in Canberra, itā€™s worth looking beyond the activity itself and asking what your young person is actually getting from the experience.

Our latest blog takes a closer look at what families should consider.
