MYTH BUSTED: Brushing your hair makes it fall out! 🪮
Ever noticed the hair in your brush and wondered if brushing is causing hair loss? Let’s clear this one up!
Hair naturally sheds as part of its normal growth cycle, and brushing can release hairs that have already shed but are caught amongst the rest of your hair.
So, does brushing cause hair loss? Not when done gently and correctly. However, aggressive brushing and pulling through knots can cause hair breakage.
✨ Start detangling from the ends and work your way up.
✨ Use a gentle approach, especially when hair is wet.
✨ Avoid forcefully pulling through knots.
If you’re noticing more hair in your brush than usual, increased shedding or changes in hair density, it’s worth investigating rather than simply blaming your hairbrush.
At Absolique Hair Health Clinic, we believe understanding your hair and scalp is the first step towards healthier hair.
