Today was all about preparing for Week 1 of Term 4 — organising lessons, updating plans, and setting up a smooth start for my learners.

Luckily, it’s a short week because my brain is still in holiday mode.

For students with dyslexia, dysgraphia and/or dyspraxia, writing by hand can require significant effort. Challenges with spelling, organizing ideas, forming letters, spacing and/or writing speed may prevent them from getting their ideas onto the page.

The result? Their written work isn't a reflection of what they know.

Touch-typing offers an alternative approach. Keyboarding can make producing and editing written work more manageable—helping students express their ideas with greater confidence and independence.

But first, they need to know how to type.

Touch-type Read and Spell (TTRS) was developed to support learners with special needs in mastering the keyboard. It's multi-sensory and self-paced; it meets students where they are and is fully accessible.

When you use a program like Touch-type Read and Spell (TTRS), you'll also be helping to reinforce key literacy skills thanks to the phonics-based curriculum. It strengthens spelling, reading and typing skills -- and gives them confidence at the same time.
