Short wait times for Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy in Bendigo!

It's very rare that we get to announce this, but we currently have availability for Speech Pathology services, with an estimated 1-3 month wait time for new clients, of all ages.

Our Speech Pathology wait times have not been this short for a very long time. We expect this to change quickly, as most of our clients book recurring sessions.

Our Occupational Therapy wait time is also currently 1-3 months, for all ages.

With both our Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy teams growing, we hope to keep wait times short, but it's best to contact our team as soon as possible to secure a spot.

As always, requests for complex services (such as Orofacial Myology assessments, Complex Home Modifications), or high-demand times (after/before school appointments), or specific clinicians, may require a longer wait than the estimates above. The above wait times are a broad estimate across our organisation.

We can support those using NDIS funding or paying privately, including Medicare-rebated services.

Call our team on 03 4436 1080 for additional information or to secure your spot.

When a speechie gets humbled by a word… 😂

You’d think after years of studying speech and language, we’d be able to pronounce ANY word… right? 👀

Think again. 😂

We put our speechies to the test with some of the trickiest words we could find — and let’s just say… confidence levels did not match pronunciation accuracy. 🤣

Because sometimes even speech pathologists need a little extra time to get their words out! 🗣️💀

Possibility to Participate 💬✨

For Day 6 of Speech Pathology Australia Week, "Possibility to Participate" is our theme. Speechies Lily & Molly are showing how Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) can help people communicate, connect and participate in the world around them.

AAC gives people the opportunity to communicate in a way that is right for them, whether that’s through a communication device, symbols, gestures, signs, or a combination of different methods. 🗣️💻🙌

Communication is more than just talking. Everyone deserves a way to express their wants, needs, thoughts and ideas, and to have their voice heard. ❤️

Speech pathologists support choice by helping people express preferences, make decisions and communicate what matters to them. ❤

In this video, we demonstrate using a communication board in the playground to give children the opportunity to communicate what they would like to do during play. Communication supports can also be used across the lifespan to help people communicate their wants, needs and preferences, giving them greater choice, control and a voice in everyday life.

Our role is to help create opportunities for people to actively participate in their everyday lives, whether that’s choosing an activity, expressing an opinion, or communicating what is important to them, because everyone deserves the possibility to choose. 🙌

What’s in a Speechie’s therapy bag? 👀🧩📚

For Speech Pathology Australia Week, our team of speech pathologists are sharing some of their favourite resources to use in sessions! We love having these go-to resources that help make learning engaging, meaningful and fun. ✨

The best part? There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Different clients connect with different resources, and finding the right tool can make all the difference! 💬🌟

🌱 Growth looks different for everyone.

Speech pathologists support growth by helping people develop communication skills that build confidence, connection and independence over time.

For one person, growth might be telling a story or sharing an idea. For another, it might be making a friend, advocating for their needs, or communicating their wants, needs and choices.

Communication doesn't have to mean speaking. 💬 AAC, gestures, Key Word Sign, visuals, writing, facial expressions and speech are all valid ways to communicate.

Just like a tree, growth is nurtured by strong roots: 🌳
💚 Therapeutic relationships
💚 Family and support networks
💚 Individualised therapy
💚 Opportunities to communicate in everyday life

The goal isn't for everyone to communicate in the same way.
It's about supporting each person to communicate in a way that works for them—with confidence, autonomy and connection. 🌱
