"Dr I have a short luteal phase based on my tracking app." How common do I hear that in clinic.....the answer is very common. Sadly though many women have been dismissed that it is nothing important in relation to miscarriage/fertility.

Traditionally students and doctors have been taught that the luteal phase is fixed at 14 days. Recent evidence shows that this is not the case.

Data collections by scientists have proven that women with a short luteal phase, even discovered via a self tracking app have an increased risk of miscarriages. Hopefully more doctors pay more attention in this area, and provide appropriate investigations +/- treatments to improve the chances of healthy pregnancies.

1st 4 months of 2027 almost full!!

Although the day-to-day life of a busy obstetrician is pretty much unpredictable, to make sure we provide the best service in looking after our patients we have to make plans many months ahead. This is the quality of a good obstetrician.

P.S. I usually don't do long holidays either😇

Since now we are already receiving bookings for May next year, I am looking at the delivery numbers up until April in 2027. In my fertility care I am also making plans for patients until the end of the year or early next year, more info will be provided in this space later in the year.

In the 1st quarter of 2027 I have last few delivery spaces for some months, for April we are already full and started our waiting list; exceptions are made for patients that I have met before either in previous pregnancies or fertility care. Please feel free to join the waiting list, sometimes spaces become available and I can look after a few more patients.

Has anyone started their Christmas shopping for this year yet? 🤣😅
