Some mornings mean more than words can express.

Yesterday we came together at One Cosmetic for our Pink Ribbon Morning Tea held in loving memory of Yolla Weber, the mother of our Nathalie Wessels, in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

A morning dedicated to honouring Yolla’s memory, the women we have loved and lost, those facing breast cancer today and the families and loved ones who stand beside them.

To everyone who joined us, shared their stories, donated and supported this very special occasion, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Your presence made the morning so much more than an event. It was a reminder of the power of community, compassion and coming together for something that touches so many lives.

What does 300cc really look like? The answer is different for every patient.

For this 25 year old patient breast augmentation involved more than increasing volume. The surgical approach considered her existing anatomy, breast proportions and pre existing asymmetry to achieve her desired increase in fullness.

Following clinical assessment with Dr. Wessels, breast augmentation was performed using 300cc round Mentor implants on each side, placed using a dual plane technique.

The before and afters highlight a noticeable increase in breast projection, greater upper pole fullness & more pronounced cleavage.

Breast surgery is about more than volume. It’s about understanding how shape, position and proportion work together.

For our 56 year old patient the surgical approach involved addressing breast ptosis (drooping), existing asymmetry and volume through a combination of breast augmentation, mastopexy and fat grafting.

Following a detailed clinical assessment, Dr Wessels developed a surgical plan incorporating 350cc Mentor Round implants in both breasts, alongside a breast lift to reposition and reshape the existing breast tissue.

Fat was also harvested from the abdomen and strategically grafted to the cleavage area to assist with contour refinement.

The postoperative images demonstrate increased upper pole fullness, greater projection, a higher breast position and changes in overall breast symmetry and cleavage definition.

What makes a combined procedure more complex is the need to carefully balance implant volume with the existing breast tissue, skin envelope and degree of ptosis. Each of these factors plays an important role in surgical planning.

A closer look at the relationship between volume, shape and contour.

400cc Mentor round high profile implants were placed using a dual plane technique, with internal bra & additional fat grafting to the breasts to support contour refinement.

There’s more to this breast augmentation than implants, It’s the finer surgical details that make the difference.

For this patient the surgical plan focused on increasing breast volume and projection while considering her existing breast shape, proportions and anatomical asymmetry.

Following a detailed assessment with Dr. Wessels, a breast augmentation combined with fat grafting was performed.

The surgical approach included Mentor implants, 330cc on both sides selected to increase fullness and projection.
Fat grafting using tissue harvested from the abdomen to assist with contour refinement & an internal bra technique to assist with implant positioning and support.

One procedure, two surgical goals & a carefully considered approach.

For this 46 year old patient the surgical plan involved addressing both breast position and volume through a single stage breast lift and augmentation, also known as an augmentation mastopexy.

Dr Wessels combined a breast lift with 370cc Mentor MemoryGel Xtra round implants in a Moderate Plus profile. Her results highlight a higher breast position, increased upper pole fullness and a more rounded breast contour.

While combining a lift and augmentation into one operation may be appropriate for some patients, it is a complex procedure that requires careful surgical planning.

An important consideration is the potential need for revision surgery. Revision rates vary depending on several factors, including tissue quality, skin elasticity, wound healing, implant positioning, scarring and changes in breast tissue over time.
