Such a beautiful visit with my client today. 🤎

One of the most rewarding parts of being a doula is witnessing the transformation that unfolds as couples prepare to welcome their baby.

Through the conversations, the learning, the emotional shifts and the work we do together, I get to see confidence grow, connections deepen and couples step into this new chapter with greater trust in themselves and each other.

It’s such a privilege to walk alongside families during this sacred time of becoming.

Does having an epidural mean you have to remain completely still?

Even when you’re lying in bed, continuing to encourage movement and changes in position during labour can be incredibly beneficial.

And this is where your birth partner or support person can play an important role. 🫶🏽

In this video, I demonstrate some gentle leg movements that your partner or support person can help you with while you’re in bed and your mobility is more limited.

💡 The idea isn’t for you to exert yourself, but for your support person to help you move gently and in a controlled way, always adapting to how you’re feeling and following the guidance of your healthcare team.

Because supporting someone through labour also means knowing how to help them. 🌷

📌 Save this for your birth.
💌 And share it with the person who will be supporting you during labour, so they can arrive feeling informed and prepared.

CLIENT L O V E ♡

“Words cannot begin to describe how grateful my partner and I are for Maite, and all that she did for our now family of three. From the first call right through to holding our little girl, we were so happy we chose to go through the journey of labour with her…
…I could not recommend her more!!! And not to mention, she’s a great photographer and videographer too.
We’ll treasure those memories forever.”

Did my waters just break… or did I p*e myself? 😅

Your waters breaking doesn’t always look like the movies.
Sometimes it’s a big unmistakable gush. Sometimes it’s a slow trickle, repeated dampness, or that “wait… what was that?” moment.

One of the simplest things to remember is COAT:

💧 Colour
💧 Odour
💧 Amount
💧 Time

Pop on a clean pad, notice what you’re seeing, and contact your midwife or birth unit if you think your waters have released especially if the fluid is green/brown, you’re under 37 weeks, or you have concerns about your baby’s movements.

Sometimes birth begins with a roar.
Sometimes it begins with a trickle. 🤎
