How saying “no” means I now have clear time for work and me …

The first photo is an absolutely exhausted and stretched version of me, I was so overwhelmed with EVERYTHING in my life. I was feeling the need to work crazy hours and fit everyone in when they needed things, I was telling myself working while i got the kids afternoon tea was effective. There was the constant fight to do the best clinically for my clients but being made to feel like I was not competent or experienced in my job. Then I would come home and feel like I was fighting with no energy left to plan and set up what was best for my loved ones. “I DON’T WANT to FIGHT anymore” was a line I remember saying on repeat to my hubby. Photo #2 There is spark and joy in those eyes and even a smile that is coming from deep inside. I’m not fighting multiple systems and people every week, I have energy and time to do things I “used” to do for ME. Goals and actions I set are actually coming to fruition and I‘m celebrating the changes of having more available time and even increased income. It is exciting and enjoyable to consider work time and there is the joy of having time for myself and my family's priority each week. I now have found the ability to; have focused time to progress my business, be totally present with my family and have time to do the things that recharge and exhilarate me, it blows me away with joy. What happened you ask? Here’s what I learned and changed:
1. Develop clear boundaries for each of the priority areas of home and work to set clear time in your diary across the week.
2. Refind and refine your purpose and the things that are “important to you”!
3. Slowing down enough to take small simple steps and celebrating the 1% improvement each day and then across the whole week, month. My mission now is exciting and clear:

Support Allied Health Professionals to reignite their passion for work and restore energy in their personal lives to have joy and choices to reach their goals and dreams. What area of the week ALWAYS pushes your boundaries, lets look together at how you can build clear and strong boundaries.

You don't have to have everything figured out before asking for support. And you certainly don't have to commit to a big plan before you're ready.

One thing I understand, both personally and professionally, is that sometimes we're ready to dive in, and other times we just need to take one step at a time.

That's why I've created different ways for us to work together.

Whether you're looking for ongoing mentorship through my 6 or 12-session packages, a focused 45-minute problem-solving session, or a more detailed deep dive assessment, we can find an approach that fits where you are right now.

Because working with your wiring means recognising that your needs, capacity and goals are uniquely yours.

My role isn't to squeeze you into a program. It's to help you find practical solutions, build confidence and create a way forward that feels right for you.

Ever find yourself scrolling through advice, reading another post and thinking, “This sounds helpful, but I’m not really sure where to start?”

Sometimes we don't need more information. We need a conversation.

As an Occupational Therapist, Speaker and Mentor, I love connecting with women, hearing their stories and understanding what’s happening in their world.

That’s why I offer a complimentary chat. No pressure, no expectations. Just an opportunity to talk about where you're at, what you're navigating and what support might look like for you.

Because finding the right mentor isn't just about their qualifications. It's about feeling comfortable, being heard and knowing you can have the gritty conversations as well as celebrate the wins together.

Let's see if we're the right fit.

The best thing you can do for next week's performance is protect this weekend.

Maybe you sat with a question about whether your business still fits who you are. Maybe you recognised yourself in the "nothing is working" feeling. Maybe you just got through it one day at a time, one small decision at a time.

All of that counts.

You don't need to have solved anything by Friday. You just need to carry one small piece of clarity forward something you noticed, something that shifted, even slightly.

That's enough to make next week a little more yours than this one was.

Rest well this weekend. You've earned it.

Because when nothing feels like it's working, the answer is almost never more strategies.

If the post earlier this week resonated this one is the next part of that conversation.

More information added to an already overwhelmed system isn't a solution. It's additional noise.

When someone/ or myself comes to me at that point, I don't start with a list of things to try.

I start by looking at the whole picture.

- What's actually working and what isn't, and in which situations.

- Where sensory load is building across the day, and what that's costing.

- Where energy is going and whether the places it's going are the places that matter most.

- How decisions are being made, and what that effort is adding up to.

- What's being masked and what that performance is requiring of the nervous system underneath.

- What genuine recovery actually looks like in real life. Not what it should look like in theory.

The problem is rarely a lack of knowledge or effort.

It's almost always a gap between knowing the theory and having it translated into something that works inside your actual life your specific brain, your specific demands, your specific day.

That translation is what changes things.

Not a longer list of strategies.
A clearer understanding of your system and support built around what that system actually needs.

If you've been in the "nothing is working" place and you're ready for a different kind of conversation, I'd love to connect.

What does an Occupational Therapist have to do with ADHD?

Quite a lot, actually. 😉

Occupational Therapy is about helping people participate in the things they need and want to do in everyday life.

And ADHD can affect plenty of those things.

Starting tasks.

Managing time.

Creating routines.

Remembering things.

Organising.

Transitioning between activities.

Managing sensory needs.

Work, school, relationships and home life.

Sometimes the smallest everyday tasks can require an enormous amount of cognitive effort.

My work isn't about making someone less ADHD.

It's about understanding what's making everyday participation harder and finding practical strategies, supports or environmental changes that help.

If this sounds like something you'd like to know more about, come and find me at the NSW ADHD Conference. 💗

What in your soul and brain does your business desire fire in you?

Business is not a static thing, it is for ever changing, growing and adjusting.

I remember being given business advice that probably looked brilliant on paper, but everything in me was saying, **“Nope. This doesn’t feel right.”**

I am doing all the things now to find my new place, and still there are times i just want to run away and throw in the towel.

It can feel unnatural, uncomfortable and, at times, completely at odds with my values. So then its about the purpose, the mission for my business, AND myself what is my purpose, what is my mission in the now.
Life changes, needs change, interests change, so the business can adapt and change too.

Understanding how you work best, what you value and what sits comfortably with you allows you to build systems and strategies around YOU, rather than squeezing yourself into someone else’s version of good business.

When your business feels aligned with who you are, you’re also more likely to find the work less draining, more invigorating and inspired to share, grow and spend time learning for your own interest to benefit the business.

Your business doesn’t need to look like everyone else’s to work. It needs to work for you.
