Melbourne is under 6 weeks away. Your fitness is mostly built by now. What you do with your breath and your head in these last few weeks is what decides how you feel in the back half.
Here's what I'd be doing if I was racing:

1. Test your breath hold this week
Get a baseline now and retest in race week. If it's moving, your tolerance to that "I need air" feeling is moving too. If you're unsure how to do this, send me a DM with TEST

2. Nasal breathe on your easy runs
Slows you down, trains your diaphragm and teaches your body to stay calm at a working heart rate.

3. Practise your Roxzone reset in training
After every hard station in a session, stand tall and take two long, slow exhales before you run. Do it in training so it's automatic in Melbourne.

4. Stop holding your breath on the sled and wall balls
Most athletes don't realise they're doing it. Pick a rhythm, like exhale on every throw, and drill it.

5. Plan your first run, then stick to it
Going out too hard on run 1 is the fastest way to gas out early. Decide your pace now, not on the start line.

6. Rehearse race day in your head
Walk through the start, the stations, the moment it starts hurting, and how you'll respond. Calm on race day is something you practise, not something you hope for.

Which one are you skipping? Tell me below 👇

Or comment MELBOURNE and I'll send you my Roxzone reset drill before race day.

Ever breathed somewhere with over 200 years of history under your feet?

I genuinely love coming to YHA Sydney Harbour. The guests are always so lovely, open and up for anything, and the setting makes every session feel special.

YHA Sydney Harbour sits in The Rocks, right in the heart of Sydney, between the Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay. The Rocks is where colonial Sydney began in 1788, on Gadigal land, and the hostel is built directly above The Big Dig, an archaeological site where the remains of early homes and streets have been preserved. You can literally look down at the foundations of people's lives from centuries ago, then head up to the rooftop and see the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
There's something grounding about bringing people back to their breath in a place that holds so much story. Ancient land, early Sydney, travellers from all over the world, all breathing together.

Thank you YHA for having me again 🙏 YHA Sydney Harbour
Shout out to Dylan for always providing amazing hospitality whenever I visit.

✨Rooftop Breathwork and Meditation ✨

When was the last time you stopped and just noticed your breath? 🌬️

One thing I keep coming back to every day is gratitude. And today I'm so grateful to be back at YHA running another breathwork session.

When we travel, our breath changes. It gets fast and shallow without us even realising. Having a moment to pause and come back to it is so important, wherever you are in the world.
Feeling a lot of gratitude for Sydney, for Australia, and for every single person who breathes with me. Thank you so much for having me again, YHA 🙏

Ever caught yourself doing a big double sigh after a cry? Your body already knows this one.
The physiological sigh, made popular by Andrew Huberman, is two inhales through the nose (one big, one short top-up) followed by a long, slow exhale through the mouth.
Why it works:
👃 The second inhale reopens the tiny air sacs in your lungs that collapse when you're stressed
💨 The long exhale offloads carbon dioxide, the build-up that leaves you feeling wired and tight
❤️ Lengthening the exhale slows your heart rate and switches on your calming nervous system
A Stanford study found five minutes a day of cyclic sighing improved mood and lowered breathing rate more than mindfulness meditation did.
No apps, no incense, just your lungs. 1 to 3 rounds is often enough to take the edge off.
When do you need this most: before a meeting, in traffic, or at 2am? 👇

"My breath." 👇

Not their legs. Not their arms. Their breathing.
They push for a minute and suddenly they're gasping, chest heaving, desperate for air. So they assume they're just unfit and need to train harder.

But here's what most people don't realise. A lot of that struggle isn't your fitness. It's how you breathe. Fast, shallow, high in the chest, mouth wide open. That pattern burns through your energy, spikes your heart rate and makes you feel out of breath far sooner than you need to.

Your breath is a muscle-driven system, and like any system, it can be trained. Stronger breathing muscles, better tolerance to that "I need air" feeling, and a slower exhale to bring your heart rate down between efforts.

Train it, and exercise starts to feel different. You last longer. You recover faster. You stop feeling like your lungs are the weak link.

That's what you're seeing here. Not relaxation. Training.
So be honest, is your breath the first thing to go when you exercise? Tell me below 👇

Or comment BREATHE and I'll send you a simple drill to start training it.

17 years ago I trained as a clinical hypnotherapist. When I came back to it three years ago, I added breathwork purely to help my one-on-one clients. I never dreamed I'd be standing in front of rooms full of people. I was petrified of public speaking. The only way I've done it is by regulating myself first, and using hypnosis on myself.

What 400 sessions have taught me about people:

✨ Believing in yourself often means putting yourself in uncomfortable situations and proving you can.

✨ Everyone has a story. Simply listening and holding space is powerful.

✨ If someone can't drop in, it's usually about control. There's nothing the facilitator can do. Surrender is always the person's choice, and that's okay.

✨ Many people feel their body get really cold during a session, and for a lot of people that's the most uncomfortable part. If you feel stressed or uncomfortable mid-session, that's completely normal.

✨ The shifts don't always feel obvious. Sometimes you notice weeks later, sometimes never, but they're happening beneath the surface. One session can ripple into every part of someone's life.

✨ I've watched people change careers, leave unhappy relationships and do really hard things, because they kept showing up on the mat week after week and built a regulated nervous system.

✨ Working alongside other facilitators is an honour. You get a community of like-minded people and you never stop learning. The more facilitators out there, the better.

✨ As a facilitator, you have to fill your own cup.

✨ You never stop growing. Everything happens for us.

To every single person who has breathed with me: thank you for trusting me with your breath. Here's to the next 400. Let's go. 🙏

If you have breathed with me, comment 🫁 xx

The Reset Retreat Oct 2026

It's been less than a week since The Reset Retreat and most of the group are already experiencing massive shifts. 🙌

This is what I mean when I say regulation changes everything. When you're not stuck in survival mode, you think clearer, you back yourself, and you show up as the version of you that's been waiting in the wings. Opportunities don't just appear, you're finally in a state to see them and go for them.

That's why stepping away and committing to a retreat is one of the best investments you can make in yourself, financially and otherwise. Everything else you do flows from how you feel in your own body.

So grateful I got to hold space for this group. Not magic, just your nervous system doing what it's capable of when you give it the chance. 🤍

Ready for your own shift? The next Reset Retreat is another small group. Comment RETREAT and I'll send you the details.

Feeling incredibly grateful. 🤍

Grateful that I get to hold space for people through breathwork. Grateful that I get to do work that genuinely means something to me. And grateful for words like these that remind me why I started.

Getting to run these sessions at One Playground is something I don't take for granted. Every class is an opportunity to help someone slow down, reconnect with themselves, get out of their head and back into their body.

To know that people feel safe, supported and cared for in that space means more to me than I can put into words. Because that's always the intention. Not just to guide you through the breath, but to create an environment where you can show up exactly as you are.

Thank you to everyone who comes along, trusts me with their experience and takes the time to share such beautiful feedback. It really does mean the world.

And a big thank you to One Playground for giving me the opportunity to share this work with your community. Here's to many more sessions. 🫶 One Playground

What would you change if you slept like this every night? 👀

Four weeks of breath retraining. Lower heart rate, higher HRV, faster runs, less stress, perfect sleep. It's free, and the accountability group is the secret weapon.

Comment TRAIN and I'll send you the details.

*Mouth taping isn't for everyone. If you can't breathe comfortably through your nose or suspect sleep apnoea, check with your GP first.

How do you know if it's anxiety or your intuition talking?

Here's what I've noticed after hundreds of sessions: when your nervous system is stuck in survival mode, everything feels urgent and everything feels like a warning. That's anxiety. Intuition is quieter. It's steady, it doesn't panic, and it usually shows up once your body feels safe enough to listen.

That's why regulation matters. Not to switch your feelings off, but so you can actually tell which ones to trust.

Drop a 🫁 if you've ever been talked out of a gut feeling that turned out to be right.
