Our family cut out food additives 25 years ago when my kids were young and feral. It was life changing to our wellbeing, sleep, anxiety, concentration, migraines, dermatitis allergies, asthma, tummy aches / IBS, restless legs, ADHD and the ability to self regulate with ASD (autism spectrum disorder).
The science is clear (and links to it are below). It works.
If you are looking for one thing to change right now cut out 282. It's in bread and wraps. It’s a mould inhibitor and messes with the good bugs in your gut.
The free ap Yuka (download it from the ap or play store) is an easy way to make healthy choices and avoid food additives in Ultra Processed Food (is it really food or is it an industrially produced substance designed to turn our health into multinational food company's profit?).
Eating For Wellness Inc on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/share/18pSAFQzDJ/ is a volunteer community group increasing awareness about Ultra-processed food it's negative health impacts and simple things we can do about it.

Prevention Strategies https://www.obesityevidencehub.org.au/collections/prevention
An effective strategy to address obesity will recognise and address deeper systemic causes, rather than rely solely on individual-level approaches. This section outlines evidence in three key areas: tax and pricing; food labelling; and marketing.
While this relates to obesity much of it aligns with improving the negative health impacts of UPF.

Calling all nutritionists, dietitians, naturopaths, GPs, peer workers and other allied health professionals who are interested in the effects of nutrition on mental health! We are NOT recruiting psychologists (as that research has already been done :))

Are you interested in being part of emerging research on New Zealand health professionals’ experiences with nutrition and mental health in their practice?

The research involves participation in a one-off online group discussion with six to eight other health professionals in your field for around 60- 90 minutes, discussing your experiences with nutrition and mental health in your practice, even if this is something you never or rarely do.

If you are interested, please send your email address via private message or email [email protected]

Please share around your NEW ZEALAND networks! Thanks!
