Well, this relationship has caused a bit of drama. 😂💅

Apparently, choosing myself has upset a few people…

People Pleasing is furious.
Overthinking has some questions.
My Comfort Zone wants me back.
And Guilt thinks I’m being selfish. 🚩

So yes, I’ve changed.

I’ve got boundaries now.
I’ve got standards.
I’ve learnt that peace is worth protecting.
And I’m no longer apologising for wanting a life that feels like mine.

For so long, I was becoming the person I thought I should be — without stopping to ask who I actually wanted to be.

Finding yourself isn’t about having all the answers.

It’s noticing what lights you up, what no longer fits, and having the courage to live more of what feels true to you.

Dolly showed us what it looks like to know who you are, own it completely, and never apologise for it.

And maybe that’s one of the ways her spirit lives on — in every one of us who chooses to live a little more boldly, a little more authentically, and a little more on purpose. 🤍

For a long time, I thought being strong meant pushing through.

So I did.

I pushed through the hard days.
I pushed through the exhaustion.
I pushed through the moments when something inside me was telling me that maybe this wasn’t what I wanted anymore.

And I became really good at being the person everyone needed me to be.

Reliable.
Capable.
Strong.
The one who could handle it.

But somewhere amongst all of that, I stopped asking myself what I needed.

Who was I when I wasn’t trying to meet someone else’s expectations?

What did I actually want?

What made me happy?

It wasn’t until I gave myself time and space away from the noise that I finally started listening to myself.

And what I heard surprised me.

I realised there were parts of my life I was holding onto simply because I thought I was supposed to.

I realised some of the things I had worked so hard for didn’t fit me anymore.

And slowly, I started discovering who I was underneath all the roles, expectations and versions of myself I had learnt to be.

I didn’t need to push harder.

I needed to stop long enough to hear myself.

And maybe that’s the part we don’t talk about enough.

Sometimes letting go isn’t giving up.

Sometimes it’s finally choosing yourself

More confidence.
More certainty.

Maybe it’s about stopping all the ways you keep talking yourself out of being who you already are.

The things you want.
The way you want to live.
The parts of yourself you keep toning down because you’re worried about what someone else might think.

What if she’s already there?

And what if it’s time you stopped asking for permission to be her? 🤍

You can have a very convincing reason for staying exactly where you are.

But sometimes the things we call reasons are really fear, self-doubt, old beliefs or stories we’ve repeated for so long that we stopped questioning them.

So ask yourself:

Is this actually a reason… or is it an excuse that’s keeping me from the life I keep saying I want?

You don’t need to change everything overnight.
You just need to start noticing what’s been making your decisions for you.

That’s where the work begins. 🤍

Healing isn't always loud.

Sometimes it looks like slowing down long enough to notice that life is still happening around you.

It looks like saying yes to the invitation, taking the chance, watching the sunset, laughing a little louder, or allowing yourself to enjoy an ordinary Tuesday.

Maybe healing isn't about becoming someone different.

Maybe it's about becoming present enough to experience the life that's already waiting for you.

It's pretty special watching someone you know make their dreams a reality.

Shout out to Susie from Lazy Susan Studio.

We both grew up in the same small country town, yet we didn't properly meet until we found ourselves in East Arnhem Land.

Now I'm watching a simple idea grow into something incredible.

What I admire most isn't that her towel dress has gone viral.

It's that she had the courage to put herself and her idea out into the world in the first place.

To be brave enough to create.
To be bold enough to be seen.
To believe in something before everyone else did.

Watching her build an idea into a thriving business has been one of those quiet reminders that dreams don't just happen to "other people."

They happen to ordinary women who choose to back themselves.

I'm so incredibly proud of you, Susie. Thank you for reminding all of us what's possible.

I love celebrating women who back themselves, and women who cheer each other on. ❤️

May we never stop reminding each other what's possible. 🤍
