One of the things I hear all the time is, “I’ve tried everything.”

And I understand that.

A lot of people have seen practitioners, tried different therapies, done the stretches, done the strengthening, rested, pushed, persisted… and still feel like their body isn’t responding the way they hoped it would.

Conny recently wrote to me and said:

“Body Magic has made a massive difference to my headaches and lower back pain. I’ve been to many different practitioners over the years, but none have helped me as much as this method.”

That means a lot to me.

Not because I think there is one magical answer for everybody.

But because so often what people need is not more force.

They need a different relationship with their body.

Less battling.
Less guessing.
Less trying to overpower symptoms.

More awareness.
More intelligence.
More understanding of how the whole body works together.

That is what I want this work to offer.

If you’d like to experience the Body Magic Method for yourself, comment MAGIC and I’ll send you the free lesson.

I thought the Body Magic Method would make me bulletproof.

Then I ruptured my Achilles.

A year ago, I was practising a martial arts movement I’d done 10,000 times.

This time, I was pushing the speed and intensity.

And my Achilles snapped.

It felt like I’d been ankle-tapped by God.

It shook my confidence in what I’d been teaching.

I questioned whether it was in integrity for me to keep teaching the Body Magic Method until I was healed.

Perhaps my ego had run rampant. I’d started believing diligent practice could make me impervious to injury.

Bulletproof.

And suddenly I wasn’t.

I’d asked more of my body than it could tolerate.

That very day, I received an extraordinary email.

A man told me he’d just enjoyed a picnic on the beach with his wife.

For the first time in over 20 years, he’d been able to get down onto the sand, sit comfortably and stand back up again without pain.

Something he’d been unable to do throughout his entire marriage.

After just three weeks of practising the Body Magic Method.

He told me it moved him to tears.

And his email inspired me to keep going. To keep teaching and sharing this work, even as I faced my own injury and recovery.

There I was, questioning my work because it hadn’t made me invincible.

And here was a man whose world had become bigger because he could sit on the beach with his wife and enjoy a sunset.

Behind the scenes, I underwent surgery and rehabilitation.

Today I’m back to moving freely, with full, pain-free function.

The Body Magic Method didn’t make me bulletproof.

My injury humbled me in a way I could never have expected. I had to learn to walk again, and I found myself approaching the Body Magic Method as a beginner.

I started from scratch. Having those practices to support me transformed my experience of rehabilitation.

Perhaps the greatest lesson was remembering that the goal was never to become invincible.

It was to have the freedom to live fully in the body we have.

If you would like access to these life changing practices type MAGIC in the comments.

I vouch for them.

Your body is a use-it-or-lose-it system.

If we’re not using a capacity, our body will stop investing in maintaining that capacity.

One of the keys to transforming the body, maintaining the body and developing its capabilities is the wonderful principle of progressive adaptation.

Incremental improvement that the body has time to adapt to.

We start with whatever we’re comfortably capable of doing today.

That’s our base level. Our foundation.

Then we introduce a little more challenge.

We give the body time to adapt, to become comfortable and confident with that new level of demand.

And once that becomes our new foundation, we can increase the challenge again.

This is where a weighted vest becomes such a brilliant piece of equipment.

You can take something as simple as your daily walk and progressively increase the physical demands without having to change the activity itself.

Start with your normal walk. Whatever distance and terrain you’re comfortable with.

Then add a little weight. Maybe two kilos.

See how your body responds.

When that becomes comfortable, you can add a little more.

And gradually, over time, you’re developing greater strength, endurance and physical capacity.

The important thing isn’t how much weight you’re carrying.

It’s giving your body an appropriate challenge and allowing it the time to adapt.

**Master this principle and you’ll master one of the most important foundations of movement and physical development.**

Move better, live better.

When was the last time you really explored what your hands are capable of?

Our hands are extraordinary.

They’re capable of incredible strength, sensitivity, coordination and precision.

But as we move through life, many of us gradually stop exploring the full range of movements and sensations available to us.

We become very good at the handful of tasks we repeat every day, while other possibilities become less familiar.

And there’s an important relationship here between our hands and our nervous system.

Our brains are constantly receiving information from the sensory receptors in our skin, muscles and joints.

That information helps us understand where our hands are, how they’re moving, what they’re touching and how much force is needed.

The more varied our experiences of movement and sensation, the more opportunities we give our nervous system to refine that communication.

And that doesn’t necessarily require more strength, more effort or more intensity.

Sometimes it simply requires curiosity.

Exploring different sensations, different movements and different ways of using our hands can become a beautiful practice in restoring awareness, coordination and freedom.

The goal isn’t simply stronger hands. It’s hands that are more capable, adaptable and responsive to the world around us.

And these are principles we explore throughout the Body Magic Method.

What if you’ve spent years working towards a life you don’t actually want?

It’s an interesting question, isn’t it?

Most of us have become remarkably good at doing what we think we’re supposed to do.

We set goals. We work hard. We push ourselves. We try to become healthier, fitter, happier and more successful.

But how often do we stop and ask ourselves a much simpler question?

What would I actually love?

Not what I should want.

Not what other people expect of me.

Not what seems sensible, realistic or achievable.

What would I genuinely love my life to look and feel like?

It’s a question I’ve spent decades exploring, and I’ve discovered that the answers aren’t always what we expect.

Sometimes we become so focused on fixing what’s wrong that we forget to explore what’s possible.

And that applies just as much to our bodies as it does to the rest of our lives.

So I’ve put together something I’d love to share with you.

The biggest mistake people make with pain? They only work on the part that hurts.

We’ve been trained to think about the body in pieces.

Sore shoulder? Work on the shoulder.
Sore knee? Work on the knee.
Tight back? Stretch the back.

But your body doesn’t operate like that.

It’s one connected, communicating system.

What’s happening in your feet can influence your hips. What’s happening through your spine can influence your shoulders. Tension in one area can completely change the way another area has to move.

That’s why I’m far less interested in chasing symptoms than I am in asking:

How well is the whole body functioning?

Because when you start restoring movement, coordination, relaxation and awareness throughout the whole system, something different becomes possible.

You stop collecting exercises for individual problems.

You start building a body with more options.

More freedom.
More adaptability.
More confidence.

And for me, that’s what ageing well actually looks like.

The place that hurts is not always the place that needs the work.

Restore the body as a whole.

Comment MAGIC and I’ll send you the Body Magic Method.

The quality of our movement is about far more than the strength of our muscles.

It’s about how well our nervous system organizes our movement.

Ideally, as we move through the world, we don’t have to think about how to move.

We don’t have to consciously manage our walking, our posture or the countless movements we make throughout the day.

We have the freedom for spontaneous expression.

To move out of the way of something, catch something, reach, press, pull, turn or change direction, without having to devote our conscious attention to performing these tasks.

For many of us, we had more freedom, more coordination and were more naturally embodied at 5 than we are at 55.

But that freedom doesn’t have to be lost forever.

Restoring it isn’t simply about lifting heavier weights, pushing ourselves harder, stretching or straining.

It’s about restoring the quality of communication between our brain and body.

And one of the most beautiful things I’ve discovered through decades of movement practice is that this process responds extraordinarily well to gentleness.

Slow, gentle, curious movement gives our nervous system an opportunity to rediscover coordination, refine its understanding of our body and restore movement patterns that may have been forgotten.

Restoration before strength and conditioning.

This is the foundation of the Body Magic Method.

It’s a gentle invitation to begin rediscovering your body’s natural capacity for free, comfortable movement.

Comment MAGIC and I’ll send you a preview lesson from the course and access to the full program.

If your body is not moving freely, try the Body Magic method for a month and see what happens.

Move better, live better. ✨
