🤸🏽 I have avoided discussing this topic for many reasons🤸🏽
Why? You may ask. Well let me tell you…
▪️Nobody really knew what this would look like. And we still don’t really know. From the first day the “Thriving Kids” initiative was introduced, it seemed to pose many questions and very few answers. We have some answers now…but still so many questions. There are many discussions happening online, much of this is speculation.
▪️A part of me really thought this initiative would now go ahead. It seemed too unorganised, poorly timed (from a political standpoint), and downright negligent to kick children under 8 off of a scheme and put them into a program that had 0 known design. Families went for MONTHS without any clear indication of what “Thriving Kids” actually was, how it would help, and what it would look like. And here we are still not knowing exactly what is happening.
Here is my take on this matter + my own personal commentary.
