Perfectly Made Therapies I offer comprehensive early childhood intervention tailored to children aged 0-8 years, where their unique strengths and needs are embraced.

🌈 Occupational Therapy (coming soon) | Developmental Education | Early Intervention | Disability Support 💗

Neuroaffirming, strengths-based and family-centred therapy that celebrates individuality, builds skills and supports inclusion. As an experienced practitioner and a mother of five children, including four who are autistic and have ADHD as well as other challenges, I am dedicated to supporting the growth and development of every child and their families. I have a passion, extensive experience and additional qualification in autism and neurodiversity. My wide-ranging services encompass early literacy and numeracy support, social and emotional learning, fine and gross motor skill development, Lego play therapy, transition to school, and the highly effective SoundsWrite program. By fostering a nurturing environment, I create a solid foundation for your child's educational journey and overall well-being. Children with vision impairments hold a special place in my heart, as my daughter is legally blind. Drawing from personal experience, I offer specialised assistance to children facing similar challenges, ensuring they receive the individualised support they need to thrive. With two early childhood degrees, including an Honours research in exploring the power of play as an educational tool, and a postgraduate qualification in autism, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. My specialisation in autism and ADHD equips me with valuable insights to effectively support children with these neurological profiles. As a neuroaffirming practitioner, I embrace a positive and inclusive approach that recognises and celebrates the strengths and abilities of every child. By creating a supportive and accepting environment, I foster their self-esteem and promote a sense of belonging. I am well-versed in the best practices of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and am able to provide support in a key worker role. Through this collaborative approach, I work closely with families and other professionals to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to intervention. I am passionate about working closely with both the child and their family, recognising the crucial role family plays in a child's growth and development. By collaborating and creating a supportive partnership, we can navigate challenges together and achieve meaningful progress. As part of my commitment to comprehensive support, I offer SoundsWrite tutoring style intervention, an evidence-based program that enhances literacy skills. By utilising this proven methodology, I equip children with the tools they need for successful reading and writing. I chose the name Perfectly Made, because I believe each child is already made perfect. I don’t seek to change them or ‘fix’ them, because they aren’t broken in any way. Instead, your child's unique abilities are cherished, and wholistically I aim to unlock their potential within. If this is what you are after, feel free to contact me to explore how my neuroaffirming approach and expertise can make a difference in your child's life. Together, we will navigate the path to growth, development, and success

🌿 More than therapy. A different approach to support.

At Perfectly Made Therapies, we believe that everyone is perfectly made, just as they are.

We don’t believe people need to be fixed or changed to fit into the world around them. Instead, we believe in understanding each person, recognising their strengths, removing barriers and creating opportunities for meaningful participation.

Our approach is neuroaffirming, strengths-based, inclusive and centred around what matters to each individual and their family.

We work alongside people, not to change who they are, but to support them to live, learn, grow and participate in ways that work for them.

From newborn babies and toddlers through to school-aged children, teenagers and adults, we recognise that support needs and meaningful goals look different at every stage of life.

✨ WHY PERFECTLY MADE THERAPIES?

Our services bring together:

🌿 Over 20 years of professional experience supporting children and families.

🌿 Extensive qualifications and postgraduate education in child development, autism, education and occupational therapy.

🌿 Additional training in neuroaffirming, trauma-responsive, developmental and evidence-informed approaches.

🌿 A genuine commitment to inclusion, dignity, autonomy and meaningful participation.

We understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to development, disability or therapy.

🦄💕 Just a little bit of unicorn magic… or so it seems! ✨

Would you believe how many skills we worked on while creating these adorable little unicorn treats?

What started as a creative activity turned into a unicorn bakery, complete with a shopkeeper, customers, made-to-order treats and Australian money! 🧁💰

And the learning? There was SO much happening!

🖐️ Fine motor skills – Pinching, rolling, squeezing, manipulating tiny decorations and using both hands together to create our masterpieces.

🧠 Planning and organisation – Deciding what to make, gathering materials, sequencing steps and working towards a finished product.

👂 Listening and following instructions – Remembering and completing instructions, including increasingly complex, multi-step orders from a very particular customer (me! 😉).

💬 Social communication – Taking on the role of shopkeeper, asking questions, listening to customer requests, clarifying orders, taking turns in conversation and responding appropriately.

💰 Early maths and money skills – Using pretend Australian coins to work out the cost of one treat, then two, then four! We explored counting, adding, calculating totals and exchanging money.

🔄 Flexible thinking and problem-solving – Adjusting creations to meet customer requests, navigating unexpected changes and working out what to do when things didn’t quite go to plan.

🎭 Imagination and pretend play – Creating a little business, taking on different roles and bringing our unicorn bakery to life!

💗 Confidence and independence – Making decisions, sharing creations, communicating with a customer and experiencing success.

✨ And perhaps the most important part?

To the child, this was simply a fun, creative experience.

There were no worksheets, no drills and no pressure to perform.

Just meaningful opportunities to practise important skills through something engaging, playful and motivating.

Because therapy doesn’t have to look like therapy to be therapeutic. 💕

At Perfectly Made, we believe in building skills through connection, creativity and meaningful experiences, while celebrating every child’s individuality.

✨ More Than Just Play ✨

🌈 Growing Together, Just as We Are.

In this picture you see -

Two mother’s aged 21years

Two mother’s holding their babies

Two mother’s with a life a head of them
——————————————————
That was then,
This is now…

Two mother’s deceased,

Two babies who witnessed horrific and fatal domestic violence on their mother,

Two babies now 6 years old,

Two 6 year old’s with complex ptsd,
———————————————————
How many victims in this picture do you see ??

According to Australian law, this picture only shows 2 victims,
The Two mother’s,
Only the deceased,
Not the children who watched and screamed,
the children are just a witness,

The children get No recognition of the crime,
No victims support services and no therapies,

Because they are not a victim, just a bystander, only a witness.

When your child is struggling with something, it can be tempting to keep reminding them, encouraging them or asking them to hurry up.

But sometimes we need to find out what is making it difficult.

Is it getting started? Not knowing what to do next? Feeling overwhelmed? Or needing help with a particular step?

Instead of another reminder, try asking, “What part is hard?”

You might be surprised by the answer.

Once we understand what's getting in the way, we can offer support that actually helps.
