These are game changers..

What is your fav movement to help with optimal positioning during pregnancy?

Make sure to save and practice these regularly 🧔

SAVE this to do these before you get to the hospital! 🧔

1. Do a run down of your birth plan with your partner. Make sure they know your preferences, what helps you, what doesn’t and how you want them to support you. This should be done much earlier but a refresh BEFORE heading to hospital is great. Mid-contraction is not the time to explain everything.

2. Get your partner to pack their swimmers. If you want them supporting you in the shower or birth pool, they’ll be glad they’re ready to jump in with you.

3. Rest instead of immediately trying to ā€œget labour going.ā€ If your body is giving you an opportunity to rest, take it. You will be grateful for that energy later.

4. Turn the bloody lights off. šŸ˜‚ and keep this going for the car ride (HOT TIP: bring an eye mask for the transfer in). Keep things dim, quiet and calm. Think less ā€œWE’RE HAVING A BABY!!!ā€ and more protecting your little labour bubble.

5. Put your phone on Do Not Disturb. You do not need 14 people asking ā€œIS THE BABY HERE YET?!ā€ while you’re in labour.

6. Eat something when labour kicks off. You might be so excited it’s happening and not remember that a light meal before things get intense can give you the fuel you need. You don’t want to be left hungry, with no energy.

This moment right here.. the relief of making it through your labour. You did it. You believed in yourself, you pushed through the doubt and fear. You welcomed the intensity and you kept going and now your here..

To now be in that moment you have dreamed of for so long. Your eyes meet theirs for the first time, you see their little face, holding the body that you felt for the last 9 months.. they a new but yet so familair. The eurphoria, the relief. It all feels so surreal but it is the most real thing you will ever experience. This is life right here. This is the whole point.

One of my biggest tips for labour is choosing the right provider for you. Having the wrong provider can really make or break your experience.

If your unable to choose someone specific to suit your needs a next best option is the have a doula who you trust, respects your choices and will be there to support and advocate for you 🧔

You know the moment you meet your baby is special… but I don’t think you realise just how special until you’re looking back on it.

In that moment, everything else disappears. The birth, the intensity, the waiting… and suddenly, they’re here.

A moment that feels so big at the time, yet somehow becomes even more precious as the years go by. šŸ„¹šŸ«¶šŸ»

We’ve made birth more complicated than it needs to be…

Look at almost every other mammal when they give birth.
They instinctively seek somewhere they feel safe. Somewhere quiet. Private. Undisturbed. They move, change positions, retreat inward and allow their bodies to do what they were designed to do.

Humans aren’t exactly the same, of course. Sometimes birth needs medical support, and thank goodness it’s there when it does.

But physiological birth also needs the right conditions to unfold.

Safety.
Privacy.
Movement.
Oxytocin.
Support.
Trust.
Time.

Birth preparation isn’t about adding more and more things to your birth. It’s about understanding how birth actually works, what supports the process and what can interrupt it, so you can create the conditions that allow your body to do its thing.

When you understand birth, you can stop approaching it as something that needs to be managed from the very beginning and start preparing to work with your body instead of against it. šŸ¤Ž

That’s exactly what we dive into inside The Birth Goddess Course, so you can go into birth informed, prepared and confident in the choices you make.
