Your business doesn’t clock off when you do (as anyone who’s answered a client email from the school pick-up line knows).

Your energy, relationships, money, health and headspace all shape how you work, and running a business shapes every one of them right back.

On Sunday 29 November, Kit Kline from is hosting Rooted in Business with us at Beach Willow Cafe. Three hours of guided reflection, real conversation and some nature-based activities, finishing with lunch together.

You’ll walk out knowing where you’re thriving, where you’re running on fumes, and what you’ll do about it next.

Sunday 29 November, 10am to 1pm
Beach Willow Cafe, Mount Duneed
$157 including lunch (optional 1:1 session with Kit, $150)

Exciting news!
I’ll be presenting at the 2025 International Mental Health Conference on 4–5 June at the beautiful Langham Gold Coast!

My session opens the “Promoting New Approaches in Mental Health” stream, and I’ll be sharing how we can prevent burnout and promote workplace wellbeing through nature-based strategies that are simple, powerful, and grounded in evidence.

This isn’t another lecture - it’s a chance to experience nature therapy firsthand and walk away with tools you can actually use.

I’m also incredibly proud to be presenting alongside my mentor Kit Kline as we shine a light on the power of nature-based therapy to support mental health in a sustainable and complementary way.

So grateful for this opportunity to share my work and connect with others who care deeply about mental health.

I’m looking forward to facilitating Rooted in Business with Surf Coast Women in Business at Beach Willow Cafe 🌿

As a business owner and mum, I know how easily our own wellbeing can slip down the priority list while we care for everyone and everything else.

This gathering is an opportunity to pause, connect with other women in business, and reflect on how your health, energy, relationships and sense of purpose influence the way you work.

Through guided reflection, nature-based activities and conversation, we’ll explore what’s supporting you, what needs attention, and practical steps you can take—with lunch together to finish.

🌿 Sunday 29 November | 10am–1pm
📍 Beach Willow Cafe, Mount Duneed
🎟 $157 including lunch

I’d love to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones. See the shared post for booking details, and come along—or invite a business friend who could use this time for herself.

Spring is calling. Let's gather in nature! 🌸

Spring is a season of renewal, possibility and new beginnings. A time to plant new seeds, nurture growth and reconnect with what matters.

What if nature could become part of the way we support mental health and wellbeing?

Join me for an interactive and reflective Introduction to Nature Based Therapy workshop, where we'll explore how nature can support:
🌿 Emotional regulation and mental wellbeing
🌿 Healing, reflection and personal growth
🌿 Mindfulness and deeper connection with nature
🌿 Holistic and trauma-informed therapeutic practice
🌿 Self-care for those who care for others

Whether you're a healthcare professional, social worker, counsellor, educator, carer or simply curious about a different approach to wellbeing, you're warmly invited.

This is more than learning about nature. It's an opportunity to experience how nature can become a teacher, a resource and a co-therapist.

🌸 Continuing to learn from nature 🌿

Today I attended Australian Bush Flower Essences training with a focus on mental health, and had the pleasure of meeting founder Ian White.

Ian brought a wealth of knowledge and a progressive perspective to exploring emotional wellbeing and the role of flower essences within a holistic approach to care.

Having worked with Bach flower essences for many years alongside my counselling work with people experiencing addiction and mental health challenges, I’m looking forward to exploring Australian native flower essences in my practice.

This also connects with what I teach in my Nature Based Therapy training: exploring our relationship with nature, including its spiritual, emotional and vibrational dimensions.

For me, spiritual and emotional wellbeing are deeply connected with mental and physical wellbeing. Caring for the whole person means making space for each of these dimensions, alongside appropriate mental health care.

A meaningful opportunity to deepen my learning and connect with the native flowers of the places we call home. 🌼

A day of learning, reflection and connection at the Western Victoria PHN Primary Care Conference at The Goods Shed in Ballarat today. 🌿

Thank you to Nasir Sobhani — Streets Barber — for sharing your message of restoring dignity through connection, compassion and purpose.

Thank you also to Erica Thompson, Dr Felix Ritson and Daniel Butterworth for exploring men’s mental health; Dr Kate Graham for discussing preparing practices for natural disasters; and Dr Sonia Davison and Cassey Jones for sharing insights into women’s midlife health.

Appreciation to Dr Niamh Logue for facilitating the day, and Western Victoria PHN for bringing us together.

As a social worker and founder of Nature Based Therapy, I value these opportunities to learn alongside others and reflect on how we can support healthier, more connected communities. 💚

I’m pleased to share that I’ve been accepted as a member of the Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) Community of Practice, facilitated by Western Victoria Primary Health Network (WVPHN).

As a Social Worker with over 25 years of experience in mental health, trauma, addictions and community wellbeing, I recognise the importance of continued learning, collaboration and strengthening our collective response to family, domestic and sexual violence.

Through my work in Nature Based Therapy, I remain committed to advocating for trauma-informed, holistic and person-centred approaches that recognise the complex impacts of violence on individuals, families and communities.

I’m looking forward to connecting with fellow practitioners, sharing knowledge and contributing to meaningful conversations that strengthen professional practice and improve outcomes for people experiencing violence.

Thank you to Western Victoria Primary Health Network for this opportunity and for creating a space that encourages professional connection, reflection and collaborative learning.

There is no one way to deepen our practice. 🌿

Sometimes we need new knowledge,
sometimes we need practical tools,
sometimes we need space to reflect with other practitioners,
and sometimes we need to step outside the way we’ve always worked and explore something different.

Over the next month, I’m offering three opportunities to do just that:

🌿 Trauma-Informed Practice™ Assessment Training & Certification — 24 October
Explore a holistic, trauma-informed approach to understanding wellbeing.

🌿 Community of Practice for Holistic Social Work — 29 October

This is something worth speaking up about. 🌿

Ask Izzy is a free and anonymous service that helps Australians find support when they need it most — including housing, food, mental health services, family violence support and financial assistance.

Last year alone, Australians made 9.1 million searches for help through Ask Izzy.

For those of us working across mental health, community services, social work and wellbeing, we know how important it is that people can actually FIND the services that exist.

Ask Izzy is now facing the loss of Australian Government funding, and there is a national campaign calling for that funding to be restored.

I’ve added my voice and I encourage others — individuals, practitioners and organisations — to do the same.

Sometimes helping someone begins with simply connecting them to the right support.

Billions are spent on services. Ask Izzy is how people find them. Join the push to get its funding back.
