If you follow us, you’ll know Luke. He’s one of our regulars, a frequent flyer on CUC respite, and honestly a bit of a CUC legend.
This time Luke came to us with one goal: camp out in his swag. So we took him to the farm for a few days and built the whole stay around it.
Swag under the stars. Mornings with coffee and a view. Mucking out the stables, wheelbarrow runs, washing the float, filling hay nets and water troughs. Leading the horses out and rugging them up at night. Cooking breakfast and dinner on the barbie. Cheese platters in the afternoon. A campfire every single night, with a couple of farm dogs who decided Luke was their new best mate.
Every bit of it was Luke’s choice, and every bit of it linked back to his NDIS goals: everyday skills, confidence with animals, cooking his own meals, trying new things, and getting that swag ticked off the list. ✅
Goal: camp out in my swag. Done.
None of this happens without our team. Luke had 1:1 support from CUC staff the whole stay, and they made it look easy.
Respite is a break. Ours comes with a purpose. If you’d like us to link your goals to your next adventure, get in touch.
