AUS LIFESAVING TEAM // Milla has been selected to represent Australia as part of the Australian Lifesaving Team at the Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships in Wales (UK) in July 2025.

This is quite an achievement for Milla and we are so super proud. She has worked hard for this, and is honoured to represent Australia.

As this is a self-funded tour - we are needing to raise money for this incredibly worthy cause.

FLIGHT // never ceases to amaze me.

Those who know me well, are well aware that I could watch planes fly + taxi about an airport for hours. My kids even drove me to a flight viewing platform for Mother’s Day one year (and provided a platter!).
How they keep tin cans in the air is AMAZING. Watching the plane flaps do their thing when landing reminds me of my Year 12 physics classes. Enthralling.
Flying over the clouds into brilliant blue skies. Viewing snow capped mountains from high above. Marvelling at the vast vast ocean and tiny tiny beaches.
*sigh*
Surely I am not the only one enthralled……
Oh - and the “I still call Australia home” music - gives me@happy goosebumps. ♥️ ✈️

APLSC // I just spent the e last five days chaperoning the Vic State Pool Lifesaving Team at the Aus Champs in Sydney. My littlest M made her first State Team and snagged a Bronze.
The experience was amazing. I also officiated as a Marshall - I met some kids / young adults destined for swimming greatness.
I found the driving in Sydney is outrageous. How there are not multiple deaths on those roads with all the arrows and turn right from a freeway, is beyond me!
Did not have a chance for sightseeing - except when I accidentally drove over the Harbour Bridge. Even then, I saw nothing except lots of cars!
It was a long weekend to remember - Milla + I will cherish it.
For now - back to tea+toast, and school runs. :)

TREASURES // for the first time in a long time, we had nothing pressing today. No essays for me. No sport. Nothing.
I went to reformer this morning, then settled in for some snuggling and movies.

I lasted a couple of hours and was done!
I dragged the gang to the beach for some treasure hunting - and I think we nailed it!

THE ‘BOOL // last weekend we headed to Warrnambool for the Youth / Senior State Surf Lifesaving Champs. Medals were won and marching was done. Plenty of beach and sunrise watching. Could never have happened without the double decker trailer (swipe to view!).

MEAL PLAN // It’s been a while!
Recently I noted that I have been in a meal planning slump, so I was ‘winging it’. For those that know me, I don’t ‘wing it’ very well.

I am trying a couple of new meals - cajun spiced tortilla (there’s a conundrum!), carbonara pasta salad (uses risoni!) + tandoori meatballs with turmeric rice salad. Will report back on the success (or possibly lack thereof!)

Slide for school lunch box treats. Home-made muesli bars are filling and easy. Dates and super cacao spread are the actual bomb. ‘Healthy’ puffed rice chocolate slice is quick and easy + yummy. Oh - and all. The. Fruit.
It’s going to be a good week.
