You may have heard the Australian Government is undertaking a Senate enquiry into Women’s Health. The Select Committee is examining critical issues including postnatal health, women’s pain, fertility treatment, assisted reproduction and medical device regulation.
The government is calling on women, families and health professionals to provide their experience to the committee to build the evidence based needed for future reform.
Making a submission so your voice is heard is easy. It does not need to be long or detailed, a simple outline of your story of accessing postnatal and women’s health care, what worked well and what is needs to change is all that is required.

Submission Deadline: Submissions close on 9 October 2026 (extensions can be requested via email to [email protected])

Aren’t they just the best! Hand made by a very talented Mum in the Barossa, not too far away from me. Very useful for during a consultation so I don’t have to grab my own all the time when demonstrating positions 😅
Love how different and unique they are, all shapes and sizes, just like the real thing! (I don’t see many rainbow ones, but you never know! 😉🌈🤱💕

It’s so important during WBW we acknowledge any and all breastfeeding journeys - whether you breastfed for an hour, a day, a week, a month or a year. The challenges you faced are real, the choices you made are where you needed to be in that moment. This week we celebrate the wins, acknowledge when things didn’t go to plan, we sit with all feelings and wrap our arms around you. You are seen, you are heard and wherever you stand, know you are supported 💕

A quick snippet of an clinic day 🤱
Reading past notes, talking, talking (and more talking! 😂), demos, note taking, research. I’m old school and prefer to use pen/paper to record notes, I find this works better for me but everyone is different! 📝
Today’s topics discussed ranged from mastitis, low milk supply, heading back to work and juggling feeding, sleep, settling, reflux and many in between! 😴🍼❤️

Officially one month of seeing clients and it has amazed me the depth, breadth and variety of questions and concerns I have supported families with so far. No two visits are the same - from supporting mothers with pain, low supply, engorgement all the way through to babies starting solids, sleep and weaning - the support a Lactation Consultant can provide is not limited to this list, this is just the start! 🤱🏼🍼🤰👶🏻👩‍🍼

Hi everyone 👋
I’m Sarah Clifford, the face behind Yorke Peninsula Lactation . I’m a Registered Midwife and Registered Nurse with sixteen years experience in acute and community nursing and midwifery. I also hold a Graduate Certificate in Child and Family Health, and as of 2025 I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant - that’s a lot of letters behind my name now! 🤓
I have always had a passion for pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding, and I love that I am now in a position to support Yorke Peninsula families as they welcome new babies into their lives 🤰🤱🏼👩‍🍼👶🏻
