Are you passionate about disability rights and interested in helping shape the future of Regional Disability Advocacy Service (RDAS)?

At RDAS, we believe disability rights are human rights. Every day, hundreds of people with disability, together with their friends, families and support networks, rely on RDAS to uphold their rights and ensure their voices are heard. Learn more about RDAS by visiting our website here: www.rdas.org.au

RDAS currently has vacancies for two Directors and three Advisory Committee members. These roles offer an opportunity to contribute to a human rights organisation whose mission is to empower, inform and advocate for people with disability so they can live the life they choose.

We are looking for Directors with previous experience and an understanding of their governance responsibilities. If you don’t have this experience but have skills and knowledge that you can contribute, you might like to consider applying to become an Advisory Committee member.

We are seeking skill-based candidates who can help guide our continued growth, impact and sustainability.

We strongly encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, including:
Β· People with disability
Β· First Nations peoples
Β· People from culturally and linguistically diverse communities
Β· LGBTQIA+ individuals

We are particularly interested in people who bring experience in one or more of the following areas:
Β· Legal & Governance
Β· Risk Management
Β· Finance & Accounting
Β· Technology & Cyber Security
Β· Human Resources & Work, Health & Safety

Want to learn more?
Further information is available on the RDAS Resources page, including the Board Director Position Description, the Advisory Committee Terms of Reference and application forms for both roles: https://lnkd.in/gNTV2CDd

Applications close Wednesday 11th November.

Endometriosis affects one in seven women and girls, yet many experience significant delays in diagnosis. These delays can impact education, workforce participation, mental wellbeing and long-term health outcomes.

Early, evidence-based education about pelvic pain and endometriosis is a practical and preventative step towards improving awareness, encouraging timely help-seeking and reducing the long-term consequences of delayed diagnosis.

By funding the PPEP (Periods, Pain and Endometriosis Program) in NSW schools, the Government can ensure that young people are educated earlier, listened to sooner and supported appropriately.

Our Wagga and Griffith SAILS groups had some unique fun earlier this month. The Wagga group met at the Wagga RSL Club for lunch and then had a game of music bingo to test everyone's knowledge of music, encouraging teamwork to guess the songs and with a little bit of dancing thrown in. Our Griffith group had a guest presenter, Yvette from Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network, who ran an exercise session as the group discussed how to maintain a healthy body and healthy mind.

Our second Wodonga SAILS group also had a session this month about the topic of health and hygiene. We had special guest speakers from Albury Wodonga Health Public Health Unit.

We discussed the importance of hygiene and safe habits, built skills to speak up when your hygiene might be impacted, and looked at issues such as allergies and ensuring people around you are aware and can make adjustments to your needs.
