You little beauties! 🇦🇺
We’ve got two new Australian citizens in the Joint Vision team, and the smiles say it all.
Our physio Kat Chounlamountry and osteopath Toby Barker became citizens in Wollongong yesterday. Even better, they got to share the same ceremony, with fellow physio Alicia Frey there to cheer them on.
A bonzer day for two people we’re very lucky to have on our team.
Give Kat and Toby a big congratulations! 💙

Thanks to Region Illawarra for telling the story behind our national innovation recognition.
There’s a lot of work behind the scenes to bring our approach to patient care to life. It’s lovely to see the people and thinking behind it getting some local attention.

From Wollongong to a national stage. 💙
Joint Vision was one of just 10 Medical category finalists in the 2026 Australian Financial Review BOSS Most Innovative Companies Awards, alongside major medical technology companies including Medtronic and Nanosonics.
With more than 500 entries nationally and 80 finalists across the program, it’s a proud moment for our independent Illawarra healthcare group.
CEO Wynter Dares accepted the finalist certificate in Sydney on Wednesday 21 October, on behalf of everyone who has helped build Joint Vision.
The idea behind our model starts with something patients know all too well: finding care can mean separate appointments, different providers and uncertainty about what comes next.
We’ve worked to connect specialist assessment, onsite imaging, treatment and rehabilitation around each person.

Your care. One team. One place.

To our whole team, our patients, referrers and research and community partners: thank you. You’ve all helped make this possible.

They’ve done it! 🏆🏐
After sitting top of the table with five wins from five games, the Fairy Meadow Hurricanes went on to win the top division at the Social Masters Netball tournament!
With four divisions in the competition, that’s a weekend worth celebrating.
Congratulations to our own Allied Health Team Lead and Senior physio Kat Chounlamountry and all her teammates. Joint Vision is proud to sponsor the Hurricanes, and we’re thrilled to see them bring home the win! 💛🖤

A night to celebrate the people who do so much for our community. 💙
The Joint Vision team was pleased to have a table at last night’s Talk2MeBro gala, with some of the crew from Phoenix Health Co joining us to support the charity and its inaugural Community Awards.
The awards recognise local businesses and community organisations that give their time and energy to helping others, often without much recognition.
Congratulations to all the nominees and winners, and to Jack Brown and the Talk2MeBro team for giving them their moment in the spotlight.
We’re proud to support Talk2MeBro’s su***de prevention work and the conversations they’re helping people start.

Go Hurricanes! We’re cheering you on. Good luck tomorrow. 💛🖤

Worried about what bunion surgery might involve?
Stories about pain, time off your feet and bunions coming back can make it difficult to know what to expect.
In our latest Insight, Joint Vision foot and ankle surgeon Dr Meghan Dares explains the differences between keyhole and traditional open bunion surgery, including recovery and the questions worth asking when considering treatment.

What does recovery after surgery look like beyond the first three months?
Research shared by our JVORI team at a national orthopaedic conference explored that question for patients undergoing big toe joint fusion.
One finding: at 12 weeks, patients in the study had achieved around half of the improvement in pain and function recorded by their final follow-up. Recovery continued beyond those early months.
It’s a useful finding to help inform conversations about recovery and what patients can expect over time.
Joint Vision orthopaedic surgeon Dr Meghan Dares was in Cairns for the Australian Orthopaedic Association’s Annual Scientific Meeting, where the team shared two papers on big toe joint fusion.
She also supported Dr Sharanya Bhaskaran at her first national presentation. Congratulations!
We’re pleased to share some of the research happening through JVORI alongside our work caring for patients at Joint Vision.
