Caring for a wound can be challenging enough without the ongoing cost of dressings 💚
If you’re buying wound supplies for yourself or a family member, you may be eligible for help through the Australian Government’s Chronic Wound Consumables Scheme.
Who may qualify?
✅ People with diabetes AND a chronic wound.
✅ Aged 65 years or older, or 50 years or older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
✅ Meeting the scheme’s requirements regarding other wound care services and funding.
A chronic wound is one that has not progressed through the normal stages of healing within 30 days.
For eligible patients, approved wound dressings, bandages and other consumables are fully funded and delivered to your home or nominated address.
At Wound Care Solutions, our Nurse Practitioner can assess your wound, check your eligibility, explain your options and help coordinate access to suitable supplies.
Exclusions apply when wound care or funding is provided through NDIS, DVA, government-funded residential aged care, Home Care Packages, the Commonwealth Home Support Programme, government-funded wound clinics or hospital care. If you receive Support at Home services, please tell us so we can check your funding arrangements.
Consultation and treatment fees may apply separately.
