🌈 A little Orbit Kids update — I’m back!
After a pretty significant few months for my family, I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with the wonderful families, educators and professionals who have been part of my Orbit Kids journey.
I know some of you may have held back from reaching out while I’ve been away, so I just wanted to say — you’re very welcome to reconnect. Whether you have something you’d like to work through, need to pick up where we left off, or simply want to say hello and let me know how things are going, I’d love to hear from you.
I’m gradually getting back up to speed with emails, plans, resources and follow-ups, so thank you for your patience and understanding as I find my rhythm again. ♥️
🌿 A new chapter for Orbit Kids — 2027
I’m incredibly excited (and a little nervous!) to share that next year I’ll be stepping into Orbit Kids full-time.
Alongside this, I’ll be commencing my Master’s in Autism and Neurodivergence Studies, with the longer-term goal of becoming a Developmental Educator.
I’m really looking forward to continuing to learn, grow and bring that knowledge into my work with children, young people, families and the people who support them.
At the heart of Orbit Kids, nothing changes:
The child is at the centre — the centre of the ORBIT 🪐
My role is to walk alongside families, build capacity around the child, and help the people around them feel more confident and connected — parents, grandparents, carers, support workers, therapists, educators and other professionals.
🦘 Victoria + Tasmania
Another exciting part of this next chapter is that I’ll be splitting my time between Victoria and Tasmania, while continuing to support families nationally through online services.
I’m particularly looking forward to building a stronger Orbit Kids presence in Hobart.
If you’re in Hobart or surrounding areas and think you might benefit from working together, I’d love to hear from you. I’m currently exploring what days and services would be most useful for local families.
I’m also really looking forward to connecting with Tasmanian schools, educators, therapists and other professionals who are passionate about inclusion and creating better support around children with disability.
💫 What does Orbit Kids actually do?
Orbit Kids is an early education-based, compassionate and strategic key-worker service, with a focus on practical support and building capacity around every child.
This can include:
🪐Online parent/carer capacity-building sessions and small group training
🪐 NDIS-focused support — including understanding plans, preparing for reviews and making sense of the real-life budget
🪐 Individualised home learning and developmental programs
🪐 Practical strategies and resources for learning, communication, participation and independence
🪐 Collaboration with families, schools, therapists and other professionals via Stakeholder meetings or shared strategies
🪐Education capacity building, particularly for educators supporting students with Down syndrome
🪐Strategic planning across the NDIS and education systems
🪐And my favourite… brain-dump sessions! 🧠
Sometimes you just need somewhere to download everything that is happening, untangle the chaos and work out what do we actually do next?
♥️ How are things going for you?
If you’ve been meaning to reconnect, have something you’d like to chat about, or simply want to give me an update, please feel free to reach out.
You can send me a message, email me, or even just send an emoji ✌️
And if you know a family, school or professional who you think might connect with the way I work, you’re always welcome to pass my details on.
I’m really looking forward to this next chapter of Orbit Kids — and to reconnecting with so many of you.
