🌿✨THURSDAY MORNING YOGA & SOUND MEDITATION — AWAKEN YOUR SENSES✨🌿
Have you ever caught a familiar scent and suddenly found yourself transported back to a moment in time? Perhaps the smell of freshly cut grass reminds you of childhood summers, lavender brings back memories of someone you love, or the scent of the ocean takes you straight to a favourite place. 🌸
There is something truly fascinating about our sense of smell and its connection to memory and emotion. Our olfactory system has close connections with the parts of the brain involved in memory and emotion, which is why a scent can sometimes evoke such vivid feelings, memories and associations.
This Thursday, our yoga and sound meditation practice will explore our five senses — sight, sound, smell, taste and touch — and the beautiful ways they work together to shape how we experience the world.** 🧘♀️🎶
🌿 Smell is a particularly special part of my classes. I often incorporate essential oils to gently awaken the sense of smell throughout our practice, inviting us to become more present, more aware of our surroundings and more connected to our inner experience.
A familiar aroma can sometimes unlock a memory, evoke an emotion or remind us of a person, place or moment we haven’t thought about in years. Other times, it simply invites us to pause, breathe and notice what is happening in the present moment.
As we move through mindful breathing and the immersive sounds of our meditation, we’ll explore how engaging our senses can help us slow down, reconnect with ourselves and experience the here and now a little more deeply.
✨ Because sometimes, the smallest things — a scent, a sound, a gentle touch — can open the door to something meaningful within us.
Come along, take a breath, awaken your senses and give yourself a little time to simply *be*.
