Sue Martin - Animal Naturopathics Supporting the health and well being of horses and dogs via herbal medicine, diet, Acupuncture, Shia We pride ourselves on providing only the highest quality.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

In recent years a high percentage of people around the globe have opted to take a natural and holistic approach to their health. The removal of chemicals, preservatives and additives and the addition of fresh, whole and organic foods now comfortably walks hand in hand with the use of natural medicine. Almost two decades ago, Sue started formulating herbal blends and treatment plans using the same principles but for animals with astounding results. At a time when the acceptance of herbal medicine for animals was quite poor, the more than favourable outcome of the animals that were transitioning to a natural diet and herbs brought about much curiosity and excitement of what could be. It wasn’t long before a herbal medicine for animals business was established and over the following 14 years, Sue lectured in the areas of Animal Naturopathy, Herbal medicine, Nutrition, Pasture management, Anatomy and physiology and Myofunctional therapy and graduated in the areas of Animal Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Shiatsu, Bowen Therapy and Iridology. The constant study, dedication and further development of the treatments for animals gained the respect of Veterinary practitioners and Animal practitioners alike. With so much interest, Sue offered regular presentations for owners and travelled to the UK and Europe where she continued to educate owners about the simple, cost effective and incredible health benefits associated with offering their pets a natural lifestyle along with the use of herbal medicine when needed. With many years of experience and the need to continue to help the animal world, we are proud to be offering our new herbal range. This time we have opted for pure herbal extracts with 75-80% being fresh plant tinctures that have been grown in Australia. The development of products and treatment plans are ongoing which means that our journey is far from over. Want to join us? We would love to be a part of your pet’s journey too.

I was recently lucky enough to meet the beautiful, teeny, tiny Amber.
Her magnificent human brought her in to see me and I literally placed Amber into my hand to check her over and to discuss diet.
Amber’s human is exceptional and has been giving her an abundance of love, care and nutrition and was keen to talk about the best diet moving forward.
I felt an immediate connection to Amber’s human Mum and knew immediately that she was someone of high quality, full of compassion and kindness.
After chatting we realised that we would have worked together at a hydrotherapy/massage resort over 30 years ago!
The world is small and full of wonderful human beings (and their dogs).
If you’re not sure about any changes you many need to make to your dog’s diet at lifestyle, please feel welcome to book an appointment to see me in the Yarra Valley.
I’m incredibly lucky that I get the opportunity to meet them, Sue xo

Canine Clinic is usually open in Yellingbo every Wednesday, however while I’m still out of action for treating horses I have extended the canine hours and this week I’m seeing dogs on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Our lambs didn’t get the memo and were waiting at the doorway for me to open 😄🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑

I can never resist stopping by Arnie’s paddock when I’m out walking.
When he sees me he wanders slowly up the paddock for some special time, and for me, everything else stops while I breathe in the peace and calm that he shares with me.
A little later I managed to get an appointment with our gorgeous farrier 😉 before Arnie strolled back to his lady friend Pippa, to graze as the sun went down.
There’s nothing more beautiful than these moments.

Brendan and his adorable best friend Gunna, made the trek from the city to Yellingbo to visit me this week.
Gunna isn’t only Brendan’s best friend, he is a dedicated Guide Dog and is extremely well tuned in and connected to Brendan.
After phone conversations with Brendan, I was excited to meet them both, and even more thrilled to check Gunna and find that Brendan had left no stone unturned.
If you’ve heard the term “sometimes it takes a village” this very much applies to Gunna.
The care he is given between practitioners and the knowledge that Brendan had accumulated means that he is in the best health that he can be in.
As if I wasn’t excited enough…I learnt that Brendan has travelled extensively with his sporting roles. Most recently as the captain of the Australian Blind football team!
I had to know more, and was grateful to have Brendan accomodate my enthusiasm.
Check out the link in the comments if you’d like to know more.
Personally, I have thought about this since learning about it and I’m sad that it isn’t more widely shared.
It’s true, that I meet exceptional people…and some days I’m blown away by the high quality of human beings that I meet.
It’s been a week of superb people and my smile couldn’t be wider if I tried.

Looking forward to sharing this practice with the community.

Spring is the time when everything is in blossom, and we are surrounded by budding plants and new life!
As an Animal Naturopath and TCM practitioner it’s also the time of year when owners contact me with pets that are suffering from upper respiratory conditions, irritated eyes, itchy skin, and horses with hoof problems including abscesses and laminitis.
When animals have several symptoms, there is almost always a link between all of them!
I often hear that it’s “normal” for some pets to experience these conditions every year, however my role is to strengthen the body so that your pets don’t experience health conditions year after year after year…..and move through each season feeling healthy and confident.
If this sounds familiar, please reach out so that we can find a solution together,
Sue
P.S - The clip is of me heading back from my walk.
I ran into my husband and daughter heading out for a ride amongst the driveway in full bloom.

My world of reconnection opened up when I discovered qigong.
It offers me an opportunity to calm my mind, relax my body and helps with flexibility, and all of this is achieved within the limits of my own body.
When I practice qigong, I smile and i know my day will start well.
If you’ve been watching my qigong adventures and you want to give it a go, join me!
I’ll be offering FREE qigong every Sunday (weather permitting) on the river at Warburton .
You’ll find me on the river by the carpark on Thomas Ave behind the shops on the Main Street.
Check in each week on Instagram and Facebook in case the weather doesn’t allow for our practice.
No need to book….just join in.
Starts Sunday the 25th of October at 8.30am.
No experience needed.

I’ve been feeling chuffed with my A-MAZ-ING organisation skills and I’ve blended an enormous batch of Equine Allergy formula!
Only to have found a big box full in reserve 🤪🙄
So rather than to have more in stock than I need, I’ve decided to let the excess go at a DISCOUNTED rate of $150 not the regular $180.
This will last a 500kg horse over 3 months and a pony over 6 months.
Itchy face, allergy induced head shaking, upper respiratory/sinus irritation can all be managed!
If this is your horse, take advantage of my super organised chaotic error and grab your bargain!
No code needed, the discount has already been applied online,
Sue

We have excess stock of Equine Allergy, because I blended an enormous extra batch, ready for Spring before I realised already had a spare box in reserve 🤦🏽‍♀️
Anyway…my error is your win!
I’ve decided to move the excess at a reduced cost to you…until it’s sold out!
No code needed, it’s already reduced on our site, so be the clever person who gets in quickly and grabs the discount!

As an Oriental Therapies practitioner, I follow the TCM 5 element nutrition theory.
This includes starting the day with a warm, savoury breakfast between 7am-9am which is the peak time to break down and absorb nutrients, reducing brain fog and sugar cravings.
As a mid 50’s menopausal woman, eating using these principles significantly reduces my menopausal symptoms and to be honest, has been a game changer in the menopausal transition for me.
What I love the most is that this theory includes, being happy with what you’re eating and not feeling restricted.
Picking fresh asparagus when I let my chooks and dogs out is a special bonus, that makes breakfast even more delicious.
