๐Ÿ“ข Information on Nairobi Dermatitis ๐Ÿชฐ
Nairobi Dermatitis is common during this season. It is a painful skin rash caused by crushing a "Nairobi fly" (rove beetle) on your skin. The beetle releases a toxic fluid called pederin, causing severe burning, redness, and blisters within 24 to 48 hours.

๐Ÿ“ข Prevention & Facts
1. Don't crush them: The beetles do not bite or sting. If you see one on your body, gently blow or brush it off.
2. Turn off bright lights: These bugs love bright LED and fluorescent lights at night. Keep windows closed or use screens.
3. Cover up: Wear long sleeves and use mosquito nets while sleeping to keep beetles off your skin."Kissing lesions": The toxin can easily transfer from one fold of skin to another, creating mirror-image.
Visit your nearest health centre if you experience any of the mentioned symptoms.
