What if the next technology you bring to your market is already made in Canada?

As we prepare for MEDICA, one of our biggest priorities is meeting partners who are looking for something new and differentiated to bring to their customers.

At Southmedic, we develop and manufacture proprietary medical technologies designed around a simple idea: there’s always a better way.

From our unique OxyMask® open oxygen delivery technology, to solutions in sterile processing, wound care, surgical blades and PPE, we’ve built a portfolio that solves real challenges for healthcare professionals.

Now, we’re looking for the right partners to help take those technologies further. 🌎

If you’re a distributor attending MEDICA and you’re looking for:

🔹 Innovative products to differentiate your portfolio
🔹 Technologies with a strong clinical story
🔹 A Canadian manufacturer committed to long-term partnership
🔹 New opportunities for your hospital and healthcare customers

We want to meet you!

Our team will be in Düsseldorf walking the show, meeting partners and exploring opportunities.

If you think Southmedic technology belongs in your country, send us a message and let’s find a time to connect.

See you at MEDICA!

In our ongoing conversation on the overuse of HFNC, we discuss how the use of this modality has crept beyond its initial indications and why that might be.

But there’s a better option than potentially overtreating your patient or settling for old, tired options like non-rebreather masks and venturi systems.

Take a look at Oxy2Mask, and join the discussion by reading our latest blog on the topic at https://lnkd.in/gpfamE2W

Heading to MEDICA-TradeFair this year? So are we.

We won’t have a booth, but we’ll be there with a few very specific goals.

We’re looking to connect with distributors and strategic partners around the world who see an opportunity for Southmedic’s technologies in their markets — and want to help bring them there.

Southmedic is a Canadian medical device manufacturer with a growing portfolio of proprietary products across respiratory, wound care, surgical blades, sterile processing, and PPE.

We’re not simply looking for distribution. We’re looking for partners who understand their markets, see where our technologies can make a difference, and are excited to build something together.

At the same time, we’re looking to discover new technologies and innovative products that could complement our portfolio and create new opportunities for the Canadian and North American markets.

So, if you’re attending MEDICA and you’re:

🔹 Looking for a manufacturing partner

🔹 Interested in bringing Southmedic technology to your market

🔹 Looking for a distribution or strategic partner

🔹 Or have an innovative technology you think we should know about

Let’s connect.

Genna Woodrow, James Cunningham, Bryan Howcroft, Erin Bruggeman and Julie Anderson will see you in Düsseldorf!

We're proud to support the next generation of innovators! 📦👟

Our donated cardboard boxes recently found a second life in a local Grade 9 Technology class, where students researched shoe designs, developed their own concepts, and fabricated prototype shoes as part of a hands-on learning project.

It's inspiring to see simple materials transformed into creativity, problem-solving, and real-world learning.

We're grateful to play a small part in helping students bring their ideas to life.

We’ve been discussing the accelerated use of HFNC through our latest blog at https://thebetteroxygenmask.com/blog/; expanding its reach far beyond the populations it was originally intended to support.

And one of the arguments for this is that HFNC is just flat out more comfortable for patients than wearing conventional oxygen therapy devices (COT).

At Southmedic, we completely agree that traditional Non-Rebreather masks, Venturi and Simple masks are outdated, error-proned, and yes, less comfortable for our patients.

That’s one of the reasons why we created Oxymask over 20 years ago – to create a new standard of care that includes a mask that’s safer for patients, easier to use for clinicians, outperforms other COT, and yes, with OxyMask’s open design, is more comfortable for patients to wear and remain compliant on.

So, the next time your patient simply desat’s on 6lpm on a regular nasal cannula, save them all that flow and setup and give Oxy2Mask a try!

The HFNC challenge nobody talks about enough: liberation.

Most hospitals have protocols for initiating therapies. Far fewer have clear criteria for when patients should come off them.

As HFNC use continues to grow, respiratory therapists are often left managing patients who may no longer require a high-flow platform but remain on it due to a lack of standardized reassessment and weaning pathways.

In this video, we explore how more thoughtful oxygen therapy selection could improve patient flow, reduce unnecessary intensity of care, and help RTs focus their time where it's needed most.

Watch the video and let us know where you stand on the growing conversation around HFNC overuse by reading our new blog at https://thebetteroxygenmask.com/blog/

HFNC is one of the most valuable tools in respiratory care. But are we using it when it's truly needed?

Every time a patient is escalated to high-flow therapy, it brings additional monitoring, titration, and follow-up responsibilities for respiratory therapists already facing growing workloads.

For patients who aren't in impending respiratory failure, there may be another path.

Oxy₂Mask® delivers effective oxygen therapy while helping ensure respiratory therapy resources remain focused where they're needed most.

Because choosing the right oxygen device isn't only about clinical outcomes. It's also about supporting sustainable care delivery.

With classrooms filling up and fall routines returning, pediatric respiratory season isn’t far behind.

Now is the perfect time to make sure your team is ready with Southmedic’s OxyKid and OxyUltra Kid Multi-Mask. Designed with kids in mind, they help support effective oxygen therapy and nebulized aerosol delivery when young patients need respiratory care.

OxyKid provides up to 90% FiO2 at flow ranges between 1-15+lpm through our innovative patented disc diffuser oxygen delivery system, and OxyUltra Kid Multi-Mask has the advantage of all that oxygen capability, plus the ability to deliver nebulized aerosol treatments when kids need prompt treatment the most.

A little preparation now can make a big difference later. Be ready for whatever the school year brings.
